Ramazan Mammadov: Strategic Roadmap is based on principles of provision of sustainable economic development, raising the competitiveness of national economy and increasing social welfare
On October 17, republican scientific conference was held on “Ways of raising the competitiveness of economy” dedicated to the 55th year anniversary of the university. Tahir Mirkishili, a member of the parliament, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, director of Economic Reforms Scientific Research Institute of Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan Republic, doctor of economic sciences and other prominent scientists of several high schools of the country such as Irshad Karimli, Zahid Mammadov and other guests participated in the conference.
First of all, Professor Ramazan Mammadov, vice rector for Science and Innovation greeted the guests and expressed his satisfaction for seeing them in the university. He noted that Heydar Aliyev had an irreplaceable role in the economy of Azerbaijan. New era in economy began with Heydar Aliyev’s coming to power; the rate of foreign investments on Azerbaijan economy increased and new environment was established for sharp changes. Vice rector also noted that “Strategic Roadmap on national economy perspective of Azerbaijan Republic” (signed on the basis of Ilham Aliyev’s order on December 6, 2016) commenced new stage in all fields of economy in terms of quality, content and form. Strategic Roadmap is based on principles of provision of sustainable economic development, raising the competitiveness of national economy and increasing social welfare. Raising the competitiveness of economy and diversifying it in Azerbaijan impacts foreign trade relations of the country positively and dynamics of development of non-oil export continues.
In the conference, Tahir Mirkishili delivered speech on “Modern aspects of raising the competitiveness of economy during the period of implementation of Strategic Roadmap” and notified that “Main directions of Strategic Roadmap on main sectors of national economy and economy” was approved by the order of the President dated 16 March, 2016 with the aim of analyzing deeply the current situation of the economy and preparation new economic development strategy. “Strategic roadmaps for main sectors of national economy and economy” was thought carefully and directed to long-term targets.
Then, participants delivered speeches on various topics: Professor Irshad Karimli, head of International Economy department of UNEC – “Strategic importance of raising the competitiveness of economy in the context of global economic challenges”; Professor Zahid Mammadov, Head of Science Department of UNEC – “New design of science and education unity in universities: global challenges and current trends”; docent Aynura Yahyayeva, dean of Economy and management faculty of SSU – “Investment factor in raising the competitiveness of national economy”; docent Loghman Abdullayev, head of Finance and accounting department of SSU – “The development directions of family business in our country in recent times”; docent Lala Mahmudova, head of Economy department of SSU – “Small innovation business in new competitive environment”. Appropriate state programs have been prepared for improvement of prior areas of economy and people’s social welfare. It was also noted that increase of the competitiveness of national economy leads to improvement of socio-economic stability and people’s living standards.
The conference continued its work in section meetings.
