On October 18-19, II Forum on “Status and perspectives of Russian- Azerbaijan collaboration in the field of education, science and culture” was held organized by Ufa State Oil Technical University (USOTU) at the capital of Bashkiria, Ufa. More than 170 representatives from 32 countries – Afghanistan, Angola, Benin, Vietnam, Ghana, Greece, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Yemen, Cuba, Mozambique, Sierra-Leone, Tanzania, Turkey, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and other countries participated at the forum. Naila Zeynalova from the Faculty of Philology, Ofeliya Safarova from Faculty of Mathematics and Khalil Sultanov from Faculty of Physics and electroenergetics attended the forum under the guidance of Afat Rafiyeva, lecturer of department of Azerbaijani and foreign countries literature.
Rector of USOTU Ramil Bakhtizin made a speech and spoke about significance of the conference at the forum. He presented delegation of Sumgayit State University – the only higher educational institution of Azerbaijan represented at the forum, to the attendees and noted the friendly relations set up between two universities. The rector expressed his gratitude to Professor Elkhan Huseynov for favorable environment created for students to participate at the forum.
Naila Zeynalova, the student of SSU was awarded with second degree diploma and several presents in Republic Olympiad organized in two stages among foreign students in first day of forum. Students wrote an essay in first stage and presented their creative works orally in Russian in second stage.
Afat Rafiyeva delivered speech on “Problems and perspectives of Russian language teaching at Sumgayit State University” in round table held with participation of teachers and senior staff of several universities of Bashkiria and notified that, Linguistic Centre is functioning at the university and different foreign languages are taught to talented students there. She actively participated at the discussion on the status of Russian language in the world. Her speech and thoughts were interesting to round table participants.
The students presented the results of researches about identity of cultures and features of languages in several countries – Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Arabian countries, Africa, China, Vietnam, Mongolia and etc. in online-festival held on “Languages of Russian and Azerbaijani nations: mutual relations and interaction” in second day of forum. Students of our university Ofeliya Safarova and Khalil Sultanov were awarded with first degree diploma and presents for original speeches on “My Azerbaijan”. Every performance of SSU delegation was interesting to attendees of the forum.
Letter of gratitude was sent to Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov by Ramil Bakhtizin, Rector of USOTU.
