In recent years Sumgayit State University has established relations with several prestigious higher educational institutions of the world and collaborates with them in all fields of education. By expanding its international relations, the university plays the role of significant bridge in country’s integration to the world.
From October 10 to 25, lecturer of department of History and its teaching methods of faculty of History and geography, PhD in history Samir Karimli visited Adnan Menderes University which is situated in Aydin city of Turkey in the framework of “Mevlana Exchange Program”. It should be noted that, the main purpose of program is to carry out teacher and student exchange between Turkish universities and educational institutions of the world, to support the development of intercultural dialogue and its enlargement. Our scholar taught 6 lessons of subject of Medieval History on “State of Frank”, “France in XI-XV centuries”, “Germany in XI-XV centuries”. He twice made wide speech on “Turkish-Armenian relations in contemporary period” and “Material-cultural monuments in occupied Azerbaijani lands” in front of professor-teaching staff and students of the university.
Mr.Samir notified that, this kind of visits provides circumstances for establishing close relations between universities of two countries, for new successful scientific cooperation and for getting acquainted with new people.
Samir Karimli returned to the country with the certificate awarded by Onjel Sencherman, the coordinator of “Mevlana Exchange Program” of Adnan Menderes University.
