Young people are always leading force of country’s future. On February 1, in Sumgayit State University an event was held related to “Youth Day”.
The event began with the anthem of Azerbaijan. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guests and congratulated youth on the special day. He noted that youth policy in the country is connected with Heydar Aliyev’s name. After Heydar Aliyev’s decree signed in 1997 Youth day began to be celebrated in Azerbaijan. Rector notified that youth policy serves to form healthy and intellectual generation. Also, being founded by Heydar Aliyev the policy is carried on by Ilham Aliyev. Rector said that young people have to work hard for development and improvement of the country.
A senior student of history and geography faculty Fagan Safaraliyev delivered speech and in his speech he focused on success of youth policy of the state, attention and care for youth. He also talked about the significance of “Development Strategy of Azerbaijani youth in 2015-2025” signed by Ilham Aliyev.
A group of students were awarded with honorary certificates by Rector Elkhan Huseynov.
After speeches the event continued with music program. Moreover, an interesting quiz was held related to youth day and winners were awarded with valuable prizes.
