On April 2, an event was held in the faculty of Physics and electroenergetics dedicated to the anniversary of April fights. First, martyrs to the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were commemorated with a minute of silence. State anthem was sounded.
Faculty dean Tamella Ahmadova delivering speech said that April fights drew attention to the conflict in international and political arena and it also was victorious for Azerbaijan. Dean noted that those events showed Azerbaijani soldiers’ combat and moral-psychological preparation. “These battles once more demonstrated the state power and military strength, unity, solidarity and patriotism of the people and perseverance for returning invaded lands”. She said that with the order of Supreme Commander the army is ready to return our lands. “He addressed the youth to continue the martyrs’ bravery. Also, one of the university alumni Mikayil Vahabov became a martyr and he is commemorated with proud today. He defended his motherland selflessly and demonstrated high professionalism and perseverance as a soldier”.
Docent of physics and its teaching methods department Mehdi Gurbanov, chairman of Student Youth Organization Nijat Huseynov and students of the faculty Givami Safaraliyev, Ayyub Sadigov said that they were inspired by the victory in April fights and they are proud of the martyrs’ heroism. 
Then a documentary film dedicated to April martyrs was demonstrated.
