On May 24, an international scientific conference “Actual issues of applied physics and energetics-2018” dedicated to centennial of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic began its work in SSU.
First, Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov and participants of the conference visited Heydar Aliyev’s grave in the Alley of Honor to commemorate his memory with great respect and put wreath on his grave. Also, outstanding ophthalmologist scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was commemorated.
Several scientists from various countries participated in the conference: vice-rector for scientific issues of Kazan State Energetics University Emil Shamsutdinov; head of Theoretical electrotechnics and electromechanics department of Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University Professor Nikolay Korovkin; head of biophysics and informatics department of Bukhara State Medical University of Republic of Uzbekistan Professor Salim Umarov; dean of Ufa State Petroleum Technological University Zukhra Pavlova; professor of Chungbuk National University Seong-Cho Yu; professor of Cheongju University Tae Ho Yeom; senior scientific worker of Dagestan Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences Adler Hamzatov; head of the laboratory of Scientific and Practical Materials Research Center of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Professor Kazimir Yanushkevich; professor of Ufa State Petroleum Technological University Ilyas Gimaltdinov; docent of Pskov State University Ivan Bandurin; professor of Georgian Technical University Zurab Adamia; researcher of Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University Ivan Nalyetov, as well as other scientists of our universities.
SSU rector, co-chair of Russia-Azerbaijan Universities Association from Azerbaijan Professor Elkhan Huseynov opening the meeting greeted the guests and thanked to them on behalf of the university collective. He noted that recently international and republican conferences are held in the university and it impacts our bilateral relations. Rector also emphasized that the international scientific conference “Actual issues of applied physics and energetics” coincides with a remarkable day. “It is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic’s establishment. Azerbaijan has joined transnational and global energy projects and become place of security and stability. Today, our country is an initiator and active participant of huge energy projects. “Southern Gas Corridor” project takes a special place among them. Being a contribution of Azerbaijan to energy security issues it influences broad international cooperation issues. Right now, perspectives in the field of energy are hopeful. During his presidency Heydar Aliyev paid special attention to energetics complex of the republic and its electricity system.” Rector in his speech emphasized that involvement of foreign experts will contribute to actual issues of energetics.
In the framework of the international scientific conference a cooperation agreement was signed on education and scientific research fields between Kazan State Energetics University and Sumgayit State University.

Современное состояние и ерспективы”; vice-rector of National Aviation Academy for scientific works, associate member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Professor Afig Hasanov – “The possibility of applying the properties of photoelastic effects to a number of radio engineering problems”; head of Theoretical electrotechnics and electromechanics department of Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University Professor Nikolay Korovkin – “Новые подходы к оптимизации статических режимов энергосистем”; vice-rector for scientific issues of Kazan State Energetics University Emil Shamsutdinov – “Казанский государственный энергетический университет как центр технологического развития региона”; head of laboratory of Physics Technical Institute of Academy of Sciences of Republic of Uzbekistan Professor Amin Saidov – “Выращивание твердого раствора (Si2)1-x-y(SiC)x(Sn2)y на Si подложках из жидкой фазы”; professor of physics department of Chungbuk National University Seong-Cho Yu – “The magnetocaloric Effect on Magnetic Materials”; head of Solid state and semiconductors department of Sumgayit State University Professor Mahammadali Zarbaliyev – “Rare earth element semiconductors based on thallium ringo indicates and their alloys”; head of the laboratory of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Professor Yanushkevich Kazimir Iosifovich – “Магнитные полупроводки на основе халькогенидов 3d элементов”. The guests thanked to rector Elkhan Huseynov for organization of the conference and noted that such conferences help to increase friendship and relation in education field.
A concert program was demonstrated consisting of songs and national dances of every guest country performed by “Sama” dance group.
The conference will continue its work two days in eight sections. 198 theses were received and published as a conference materials collection.
