On May 31, the IV Student scientific conference dedicated to Heydar Aliyev’s 95th anniversary began its work at SSU.
First, attendees of the conference were acquainted with the exhibition in the foyer of the big assembly hall consisting of students’ reports who took places in the conference.
Rector of the university Professor Elkhan Huseynov opening the conference talked about Heydar Aliyev’s and Ilham Aliyev’s attention to science and education. He noted that such conferences make students more interested in science. Also, appreciating the events organized by Student Scientific Society rector emphasized its importance in involvement of students in science. He notified that SSS members successfully participate in republican and international conferences. At the end of his speech, rector called young people to be active in the events of the Society.
Vice-rector for Science and innovations Professor Ramazan Mammadov delivering speech noted that the conference plays important role in revealing young researchers’ scientific potential and they have great responsibility in this field.
Head of SSS Lala Bunyatova made a report on main directions of the Society and works done in those directions. She noted that in this academic year on October 18-19, II Forum was held on “Situation and perspectives of Russia and Azerbaijan in the fields of education, science and culture” in the capital city of Bashkiria, Ufa with the organization of Ufa State Petroleum Technical University. In the forum, only SSU was represented from Azerbaijan and the students were awarded with diploma and various presents. “Student-teacher exchange is successfully realized at SSU. In November 2017, students of Ufa State Petroleum Technical University visiting SSU discussed some scientific topics with chemistry and biology faculty students. From May 19 to 26, a group of chemistry and biology faculty students together with dean docent Mahal Muradov represented our university in Ufa State Petroleum Technical University participating in the II Scientific Olympiad on “Processes and apparatuses of chemical industry”. Our university has bilateral treaties with Ufa State Petroleum Technical University (Russia), Technical University of Cologne (Germany), Graz Technical University (Austria), Warsaw Technology (Poland), Kazan State Energetics (Kazakhstan), Samara State Technical (Russia) Universities, etc. One of the students of history and geography faculty – a second year student Eltun Ughurlu applied to “Mevlana Exchange Program” and gained the opportunity to study in Sakarya University, Turkey for 6 months. Only in April-May, 2018, through SSS our students sent 54 theses to the conferences held in educational institutions of the country and 11 theses to international conferences.”
Then, awarding ceremony of students was held. 133 theses in 23 sections were received to the conference and they were published as a conference materials collection.
