On July 6, a meeting was held at Sumgayit State University connected with the project entitled “Preparing unified educational programs on Accounting compatible with novel standards and holding debates at Universities” which is conducted by Young Accountants Unity with financial support of State Support Council to Non-governmental Organizations under the President of Azerbaijan Republic. The main purpose of the project is preparing primary version of unified educational program at universities related to transition to accounting compatible with new standards in the country and presenting it to related institutions.
The following people took part in the meeting: dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of SSU docent Aynura Yahyayeva, head of the Department of Finance and Accounting docent Loghman Abdullayev, department personnel, chairwoman of Young Accountants Unity Solmaz Aliyeva, head of the Department of Accounting and Audit of Baku Engineering University Firudin Sultanov, senior lecturers of BEU Galib Mikayilov, Sanan Huseynzade, deputy chief of Department of ERP systems application of “Sinam” LLC Elshan Sharifov, financial analyst Ibrahim Suleymanov, members of YAU expert group Kamaladdin Guliyev and Rauf Rzayev. 
Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management docent Aynura Yahyayeva spoke about the significance of this kind of projects in development of accounting and highly appreciated holding this meeting at Sumgayit State University. She noted that close cooperation will contribute to the improvement of this field. 
Head of Department of Finance and Accounting docent Loghman Abdullayev delivered speech about lesson programs taught on specialty of accounting. Then accounting program was reviewed. 
The chairwoman of Young Accountants Unity Solmaz Aliyeva gave wide information about the project. She notified that after recapitulation of meetings at universities our organization will prepare initial version of unified educational program by setting up working group consisting of specialized experts jointly with Financial Science and Education Centre under Ministry of Finance. Afterwards the debate of prepared program will be held in Baku by organizing round table and it will be presented to relevant institutions certified with signature of experts for reference and to Ministry of Education for authentication. 
Head of the Department of Accounting and Audit of Baku Engineering University Firudin Sultanov widely spoke about specialty of accounting in BEU, used programs and books. 
The event went on with discussion of the topic and suggestions.
