On September 13, Board meeting was held in the Ministry of Education. Participants in the meeting included chairwoman of Department of Humanitarian policy issues of President Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Farah Aliyeva, Board members, heads of ministerial departments, and rectors of higher education institutions.
Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about achievements gained in the field of education under the administration of President Ilham Aliyev and highlighted fundamental reforms.
Deputy Minister of Education Firudin Gurbanov reported “The results of Paris Ministers Conference and main tasks”. He notified that 550 persons from 77 countries, also 40 international and regional organizations, as well as Azerbaijani delegation took part in the Conference of Education Ministers of European Higher Education Area and Bologna Education Policy Forum in Paris on May 23-25.
F. Gurbanov gave information about main provisions of Declaration of Paris Ministerial Conference and Declaration of Bologna Policy Forum. He pointed out that it is noted keeping in focus solution of problems in the field of application of Lisbon Convention on diploma recognition, as well as supporting synergy development issues in the sphere of Erasmus + program, mobility, inclusiveness, lifelong education, intersubjective cooperation, science, education and innovation in Declaration of Paris Ministerial Conference. At the same time it is promoted to direct higher education to specialist preparation, who can work in digital environment.
The report of head of the Department of Science, higher and secondary education of Ministry of Education Yagub Piriyev was heard “On the results of student admission in Azerbaijani universities for the 2018/2019 academic year”. He also gave wide information about statistical analysis of entrance exams, increase in admission score of entrants on I-IV groups in last five years and rising reputation of teaching profession.
Deputy head of the Department of Science, higher and secondary education of Ministry of Education Shahin Bayramov emphasized the state of collaboration between Ministry of Education and “Clarivate Analytics” company, gained achievements and main challenges in Board meeting.
The meeting then featured discussions on the issues on the agenda, and participants made several proposals and gave recommendations.
In his speech, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his thoughts about improvement of education.
Afterwards, the reports were heard in the meeting on “Discussion and approval of some rules and regulations adjusting activity of higher educational institutions”, “Results of contest of teacher recruitment for 2018/2019 academic year”, “New format of graduation exam and student admission to higher educational institutions for 2019/2020 academic year”, “Conception of rating of educational institutions”.
