On September 14, the first meeting of Scientific board in 2018/2019 academic year was held at Sumgayit State University.  Rector of university Professor Elkhan Huseynov made welcome speech, congratulated board members on occasion of commencement of new academic year, wished success and pointed out the issues on the agenda. 
Before discussing the agenda, the rector gave wide information about the Board meeting which was held at 13.09.2018 in Ministry of Education. He noted that Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov recommended focusing on characteristic features of Bologna education system and informing the students about all rules of this system. 
Afterwards Professor Elkhan Huseynov spoke about the result of student admission in 2018/2019 academic year which was discussed at Board meeting, the changes made in regulations for higher educational institutions and other issues and asked members of Scientific board to listen to full electron version of Board meeting. 
Vice-rector on Teaching Organization and Training Technologies docent Natig Talibov delivered speech about results of admission to bachelor degree in 2018/2019 academic year to Sumgayit State University; head of Doctorate and Master Programs Office docent Sabir Khalilov about admission to master degree. 
Chairwoman of Sumgayit State Technical College docent Matanat Pirguliyeva reported admission results and the works done for new academic year at the College. 
Vice-rector on Teaching Organization and Training Technologies docent Natig Talibov gave information about results of summer school of the students studying on Credit system. 
It was noted that student admission level to bachelor and master degree is satisfactory at SSU and at SSTC according to forecasted norm (99%). 
Then current issues were discussed. Scientific secretary Professor Mukhtar Samadov informed about Teaching plans and program syllabuses. After discussion, teaching aids presented to Scientific board were certified.
At the end Professor Elkhan Huseynov gave his task for holding September 15 – Knowledge Day with festive mood.
All agenda issues were discussed and decisions were made, thus first meeting of Scientific board concluded.
