On September 18, a meeting was held at Sumgayit State University within Twinning project entitled “Support to strengthen higher education system in Azerbaijan” with European experts.
Deputy vice-rector on International relations of Strasburg University, deputy dean of the Faculty of Physics, co-chair of Scientific board of UFAZ university Philip Turek, resident Twinning coordinator of Twinning project “Support to strengthen higher education system in Azerbaijan” Liza Baydanova, assistant of resident Twinning consultant Aytaj Atakishiyeva and interpreter of resident Twinning consultant Tarlan Arzumanov took part in the meeting.
Vice-rector on Teaching Organization and Training technologies docent Natig Talibov accepted the guests and gave wide information about activity of university, structure and teaching programs, as well as about trainings conducted within Twinning projects. He notified that, it has become a tradition for our university to participate in the programs financed by European Union. The university is a member of several interuniversity associations for running experience exchange with leading universities of the world. Also, achievements have been gained on international projects and programs. The vice-rector expressed his gratitude to project participants for their support to the development of the university and noted that Twinning project “Support to strengthen higher education system in Azerbaijan” which is financed by European Union and co-organized by education institutions of France, Latvia, Lithuania and Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan will contribute to the advancement of higher educational system of Azerbaijan.
Deputy vice-rector on International relations of Strasburg University, deputy dean of the Faculty of Physics, co-chair of Scientific board of UFAZ university Philip Turek delivered speech and emphasized that this project will effectively impact the increase of quality of higher education. He highlighted that Twinning project is assisting Ministry of Education to adapt higher education system of Azerbaijan to the requisites of European Higher Education Area (EHEA). It should be noted that execution of the project commenced in April, 2018. The consortium, represented by France, Latvia and Lithuania was elected the winner for project execution.
Afterwards, the guests visited the Faculty of Physics and electroenergetics. Dean of the Faculty docent Tamella Ahmadova gave information about the activity of the Faculty, organization of lessons, the significance of the project and put forward interesting suggestions. The debate was held about the role of the project on improvement of higher education system of Azerbaijan via integration of European Higher Education Area.
European experts got acquainted with visual aids and equipment of the laboratories.
The guests thanked to university administration for organizing the meeting.
