On September 21, a startup tour within the project “From idea to business” was held in Sumgayit city. More than 100 participants from Sumgayit and surrounding districts took part in the event which was held at Heydar Aliyev Centre.
Firstly, informative session was organized for participants and they were informed about the conception of project “From idea to business”, the objectives of startup tours within the project, gained outcomes and future plans.
It was noted that the tours within the project are realized for supporting expansion of startup and realizing innovative ideas of persons. “Azercell” company is the main partner of the project , which is co-organized by Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, “Regional development” Public Unity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, Development Program of United Nations Organization and “Microsoft” company.
The attendees were informed about opportunities provided by the Foundation, traditional grant competitions and participation at these competitions in the infosession organized by Information Technologies Development State Foundation.
Afterwards, the author of “Healthy life platform” project Shahlar Pashayev shared his success story. Informing about his project, Pashayev Sh. Notified that the users can gain detailed information within 6 minutes about their health parameters after being recognized by mobile portal “Healthy life platform”.
It should be noted that “Healthy life platform” project has been chosen the best startup of Azerbaijan within Startup Tour on Open Innovations jointly organized by Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and “Skolkovo” foundation of Russian Federation.
The training covering the issues of establishing startup teams, preparing project presentation, investigating the market was conducted for participants by the representatives of “AIESEC in Azerbaijan” and “Microsoft” companies in interactive part of the event.
The team was set up consisting of participants with ideas and the teams were prepared to competition by professional mentors.
The teams displayed their ideas to jury in the competition. After presentations of team leaders, the projects were debated.
At the end of second part the jury determined the winners of I, II and III places on Sumgayit city.
“Smart reactor” and “Zoolab” projects prepared by the students of Sumgayit State University were awarded accordingly I and II places, “Order Bot” III place. The winners were awarded by organizers and partners at the end of the event.
Therefore, the most successful startup projects on Sumgayit city were determined along with Mingachevir, Lankaran and Guba.
The winners of startup tours on regions and cities of the Republic gain the right to participate in National Final which will be held in Baki.
The winners of I, II and III places will be awarded by organizers and partners, as well as could present their projects within 24th “Bakutel” International Telecommunication, Innovation and High Technologies exhibition-conference.
Besides, winner projects could be provided with mentor services and could be sent to international events.
