On September 27, Russian scholars held a seminar at SSU for teachers of institutions, where Russian language is taught. 
Head of the Department of Foreign languages Professor Nigar Isgandarova, head of the International Cooperation Office PhD in history Samira Mammadova and employees of the Office, head of Linguistic Center Alik Abdullayev met the guests and expressed their gratitude on seeing them at the University. 
It should be mentioned that along with the lecturers of SSU, Russian language teachers of secondary schools № 11, 12, 36 in Sumgayit took part in the event. 
Chairman of Linguistic Center Alik Abdullayev notified that IX Azerbaijan-Russia Interregional Forum, that launched today, serves as an evidence of high level of cooperation between our countries. “Azerbaijan has always been recognized as the place joining different civilizations, where cultural diversity environment has formed, representatives of different nations live in peace, mutual understanding and dialogue” said the chairman. Emphasizing substantial directions of Azerbaijan multiculturalism, Alik Abdullayev spoke about sincere relations between 2 countries and cooperation in the fields of science, culture and economy. 
PhD in history Samira Mammadova delivered speech and spoke about the history and international relations of the university. She noted that Sumgayit State University is collaborating with several prestigious universities of the world, as well Russian universities within ERASMUS + and Association of Azerbaijani-Russian universities; the projects are successfully realized in direction of giving dual diplomas, student-teacher exchange and conducting joint scientific-research works. Last year the dean of the Faculty of Natural sciences, psychology and medical education of Pskov State university Professor Vladimir Prokofyev held a seminar for the lecturers of the Department of Biology and its teaching methods of the Faculty of Chemistry and biology. Our scholars also visit leading universities of the world, hold lectures and seminars. It should be noted that our University has been the member of the Association of Universities of Caspian States since 2014 and Association of Azerbaijani-Russian universities since 2015. Azerbaijani co-chairman of the Association is the Rector of Sumgayit State University Professor Elkhan Huseynov.
Coordinator of Education programs at Russian Information Culture Center, head of the Teachers Association at Russian language institutions in Azerbaijan Lubov Timofeyevna: “Such seminars will contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as our education.”
Chairwoman of Russian community on Sumgayit, deputy head of secondary school № 11 Lubov Vladimirovna were presented diploma and present for her services in the Community.
Professor of the Department of Theoretical and historical poetics of Philology and History Institute of Russia State Humanitarian University Yuriy Domanskiy, senior lecturer of the Department of Internship of foreign specialists of State Russian Language Institute named after Pushkin Varvara Filippova expressed their satisfaction on visiting Sumgayit State University, the only University of the city. Emphasizing significance of teacher-student interchange, the guest appreciated cooperation between universities of 2 countries. 
The guests delivered lectures “Game technologies in teaching Russian language as a foreign language at secondary schools”, “Functional-semantic aspects of Russian language teaching at elementary school” in the seminar.
The participants were awarded with certificates at the end of the seminar.
