Job fair is substantial for employment of youth and their integration into job market. For this reason, job fair under the motto “First step to career” was held on September 28 at Sumgayit State University with organization of Sumgayit city Employment Center of State Employment Service under Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of People of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
154 vacant places were presented by 15 institutions functioning in Sumgayit city, 3 of them are state, 12 private institutions. The big enterprises of Sumgayit: Sumgayit Technologies Park, “Azerchemistry” PU Sumgayit gas exploitation area, Carbamide factory of “SOCAR”, Gilan Textile Park, “Qartal Construction Company” LLC, “STDC” LLC, “El-Plastic” LLC and other companies presented job vacancies to fair attendees.
Vice-rector on Humanitarian Issues of SSU docent Ramiz Huseynov notified that such job fairs are of great importance for connecting job seekers and employers, supporting integration of senior students and graduates of higher education institutions into job market and providing effective employment. He noted that employment of graduates is one of the priorities of Sumgayit State University. “I believe that every graduate of our university will contribute to cadre potential of our country,” he said.
Director of Sumgayit city Employment Center Elkhan Badalov expressed his gratitude to Rector of University Professor Elkhan Huseynov for creating circumstances to hold the fair. He highlighted that the aim of holding the event is to support businessmen (entrepreneurs) to choose future cadres for their enterprise and along with it support the graduates and students to get information about vacancies on their specialties.
Graduates and senior students were informed about the project and activity of the Center; CVs of the students, who want to participate in the project, were taken. Hundreds of youth applied for job to the companies, most of them were invited to interviews.
The attendees expressed their gratitude to organizers for organization of the event.
