On September 25-26, XXI General Assembly of Association of State Universities of Caspian countries was held at Atyrau State University of Petroleum and Gas of Kazakhstan Republic.  
The representatives of universities of Kazakhstan, Iran Muslim Republic, Russian Federation, as well as Azerbaijan – Sumgayit State University, Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University took part in the Assembly work. 
Rector of Atyrau State University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov, president of Association of State Universities of Caspian countries Professor Abzala Taletanov made welcome speech, spoke about works done within the Assembly and sounded the appeal of governor of Atyrau region Nurlan Nogayev.
Current issues of the Association were discussed, the reports of coordinator representatives of the countries and round table participants were heard in the meeting. And also the work results for 2017-2018 of Association were debated and significance to attract young scholars and students to the work of Association is emphasized. 
Afterwards, the report of executive director of Association was listened, actual problems of activity of higher education institutions and scientific organizations were discussed. The following decisions were made in the meeting: election of Professor Ali Abishev, the rector of Atyrau State University of Petroleum and Gas as the president of Association for 2018-2019, holding XXII General Assembly of Association at base of Gilan University in October, 2019, holding XXIII General Assembly at the base of Kalmik State University in October, 2020, accelerating the process of creating dual diploma programs, application of virtual cooperation forms, holding online lectures in the area of education, science, culture, tolerance and multiculturalism, calling 2018-2019 the year of Science, compiling Scientific research Program of Association together with member universities and presenting it at XXII General Assembly, preparing for instituting Youth office of Scientific researches under the Association, establishing its interaction mechanism and preparing its regulations. 
Vice-rector on Humanitarian issues docent Ramiz Huseynov and head of the Department of Electromechanics docent Turgay Huseynov represented our university in the Assembly.
