On October 2, the conference was held entitled “Application of new standards on Accounting in Azerbaijan: problems and perspectives” organized by World Bank and Azerbaijan Accountants and Risk Specialists Association.
Chairman of World Bank office in Azerbaijan Navid Hasan Nagvi spoke about the significance of application of new standards on accounting in the country.
Department head of Ministry of Finance Firuza Abdullayeva notified that some laws were amended for application of new standards on accounting recently. She noted: “I think that these changes will contribute to attract foreign investment to the country”.
Afterwards, the conference went on with sections. 
The amendments intended in the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “About accounting” and providing easy passage to these amendments, learning international experience existing in this field, eliminating problems and future perspectives of the profession of accountant were discussed in the conference. 
Senior lecturer of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Faculty of Economics and Management Mehman Ahmadzade and assistant Shalala Mammadova represented our university in the conference.
