Yesterday the information was posted in some news portals with heading “Sumgayit State University prohibited the students from wearing beard”.
Sumgayit State University, which is the prestigious higher education institution of the region, is recognized not only with its material-technical base and specialists, but also with cadre potential. It should be noted that properly built education policy and its basic directions cover all fields of Azerbaijani society. Higher education institutions bear great responsibility in ensuring the future of the country, determining and realizing main perspectives of advancement of Azerbaijani education. Sumgayit State University has special place and role in carrying out the tasks, like all universities of the Republic.
Sumgayit State University calls attention to forming students’ aesthetic taste, along with teaching and educating them. Since the true student has to own high morality, culture, national and spiritual values of our nation and should be able to convey those values to future generations! The student has to care about his/her appearance, cloth, hygienic rules; the boys have to shave and be tidy. Higher education institution educates public figure, teacher, doctor, engineering, etc. of future. For this reason, the students should be the sample to other youth.
We would like to bring to the attention of Media representatives that it is more expedient to describe created circumstances for students at the university instead of publicizing complaint of some students. We would recommend you to write about teaching and scientific-research laboratories established at SSU, free language courses at Linguistic Center for improving language knowledge of students, “smart boards” in auditoriums, connection of university to internet network, electronic library, the activity of Student Scientific Society for revealing scientific potential of students.
SSU students took an active part in international conferences held in foreign countries by paying all their expenses.
Our students actively participate and are awarded in competitions: “The best article contest”, “Brain ring”, “Let’s get to know Azerbaijan”, “What, where, when” and “Khamsa”, as well as in contests of Club of Funny and Witty.
Our university calls special attention to the field of sports. Gym, football pitch with artificial coating, volleyball, badminton and basketball pitches, places for table games have been set up here. Our sportsmen students took part in sports competitions both in Azerbaijan and foreign countries.
Dear Media representatives! We invite you to write about these gained achievements. The issue, you are dealing with, is not a new event at Sumgayit State University. This tradition is going on for a long time, more than 90 percent of students and their parents are satisfied with this issue.
It is worthy to note that Sumgayit State University regularly holds Open door days. One of them will be held on October 30, at 10.00. We invite Media representatives to attend it.
