On November 5, cooperation agreement was signed between Sumgayit State University and “Organizations of Disabled Entrepreneurs” Public Unity.

Rector of university Professor Elkhan Huseynov and chairman of “Organizations of Disabled Entrepreneurs” Public Unity Mirza Mammad Valiyev signed the agreement on behalf of their institutions.

The contract includes: holding joint events, collaborating with the university for involvement of disabled young people in entrepreneurship activity, preparing new specialties like organization and management of social work together. The agreement also covers other issues like: establishing joint activity and business relations among local and foreign companies and businessmen, supporting preparation of market research and business plans, building relations with higher education and industrial institutions for scientific researches, conducting consultation and coordination works for jointly participating in different tenders, preparing and saling innovational products in direction of commercialization of science, organizing projects, conferences, seminars and trainings and etc.

Rector expressed his satisfaction on the expansion of relations and effective cooperation between university and Public Unity, spoke about the significance of events, which will held in the future and pointed out implemented state reforms, related to establishment of inclusive education model for people with special needs, which comes from State Strategy for advancement of education. He noted that “State Program on development of inclusive education for persons with disabilities in Azerbaijan Republic in 2018-2024” was adopted and it is intended to provide education right of persons with disabilities on all stages of education, with equal opportunities. Professor Elkhan Huseynov also spoke about the works done at the university in the field of inclusive education and the activity of Center for disabled students. “Several agreements have been signed between our university and Union of Organizations for disabled persons in direction of supporting formation of inclusive society in Azerbaijan and creating equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. Employees of our university participated in the project “ESFIDIP 543649-TEMPUS-1 Laying foundations of integration of persons with disabilities to Azerbaijani higher education institutions” in 2013-2016 and were awarded with certificates”.

Chairman of “Organizations of Disabled Entrepreneurs” Public Unity Mirza Mammad Valiyev appreciated activity of Sumgayit State University and highlighted importance of cooperation. He said: ““Organizations of Disabled Entrepreneurs” Public Unity has been functioning since 2014 in Sumgayit and several regions of the country. The main activity directions are integration of persons and children with disabilities into society, their rehabilitation, increasing employment capacity, educating them for active participation in labor market, providing legal support, vocational preparation and promotion to entrepreneurship activity. It is intended to involve young engineers and economists of SSU to “Pandus Construction” LLC, instituted by ODEPU, to prepare and execute national and international projects, to engage the teachers and students of proper faculties in the preparation of programs and projects, to prepare and carry out “education-science-production” project, establish and improve cooperation with organizations and foundations, that bestow a grant.

The suggestions were made on the project; the successful continuation of cooperation was highlighted.
