SSU STUDENTS AND LECTURERS ATTENDED INTERNATIONAL GEOGRAPHICAL DICTATION
On November 11, International geographical dictation was held in Baku branch of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
International geographical dictation has been held every year since 2015.
Student and teaching staff of Sumgayit State University has attended this event since 2017. This year lecturers and students (70 persons) of SSU actively participated at International dictation organized by Baku branch of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
At first, the quiz was held about geography and employees of SSU docent Ilham Mardanov, senior lecturer Masud Almammadli and tutor Mehman Kazimov took an active part at the quiz. Senior lecturer Masud Almammadli responded all the questions and he was introduced a present.
The participants of International dictation were awarded with certificates. The event was interesting and efficient; it was of great importance to increase geographical knowledge of lecturers and students. Written results of the dictation will be announced on November 30.
It is worth noting that more than 260.000 people took part in Geographical dictation in 2017. People of several countries (Russia, Argentina, Czech Republic, Denmark, Great Britain, Norway, Turkey, etc.) along with Azerbaijan tested their knowledge of geography. Every person, regardless of their age, education, social origin, religion and citizenship can attend the dictation. International dictation includes the questions about geographical notions and terminology, main geographical processes and location of objects in the map.
