INFORMATION DAY ON HORIZON 2020
On November 17, the presentation of Horizon 2020 program was held at the university. Vice-rector on Science and Innovations of SSU Professor Ramazan Mammadov, vice-rector on Humanitarian Issues docent Ramiz Huseynov, vice-rector on Correspondent, Distant and Extra education docent Gafar Atayev, head of the national representation of Erasmus+ program Parviz Baghirov, chairwoman of International Cooperation Office PhD on history Samira Mammadova, Office employees and volunteer workers, lecturers, researchers and others took part in the event. The object of the program was provision of participation of scholars at grant projects.
Vice-rector on Science and Innovations of SSU Professor Ramazan Mammadov launched the event with welcome speech, hailed participants and highlighted the importance of the event for advancement of higher education in the country and for international cooperation of Azerbaijani higher education institutions with universities of European Union countries and education structures.
Afterwards, Arif Najimov, National coordinator on small and medium enterprises development of HORIZON 2020 program, lecturer of Baku Engineering University and advisor of Department of International relations and project management delivered presentation on subject of Project preparation and presentation opportunities to HORIZON 2020 Innovation and Researches Grant Program of European Union. He recommended SSU lecturers and researchers to apply this program with their ideas and spoke about importance of effective usage of Erasmus+ and other education programs supported by European Union.
National coordinator on HORIZON 2020 on Economics Institute of ANAS Rufat Afandiyev and National coordinator on HORIZON 2020 on Archeological Institute of ANAS Zaur Hasanov delivered speech and notified that HORIZON 2020 program is the biggest grant program in the history of European Union. They gave wide information about scientific-research and innovation program of European Committee, history and new strategy of frame programs of European Union and Horizon 2020 program.
The event went on with discussions and questions around the topic.
The guests, vice-rectors and head of International Cooperation Office visited the Centre for students with disabilities at the university. Head of Organization for Disabled Entrepreneurs Public Unity Mirza Mammad Valiyev and 2 members of the Organization took part in the meeting. The guests were informed about establishment of the Centre within TEMPUS ESFIDIP project, use of the Centre by students with disabilities and involvement of these students to social events and international projects.
