On November 24, first Debate Forum was held at Sumgayit State University.

Vice-rector on Humanitarian Issues docent Ramiz Huseynov commenced the Forum and notified that the debate is an important tool for personal development of the person. He noted: “Holding the debate aims to improve the public presentation and oratory ability in students. Student Youth Organization of our university conducts significant works in direction of increasing activity of students on a voluntary basis, improve their intellectual advancement and formulate close relations between groups and faculties. For this reason, it regularly carries out educational works among students and involves active students to work in holding debates, scientific conferences and seminars, symposiums, round tables. The organization holds events for determining talented and creative students, solving students’ social problems. The care and attention of state to youth increase the sense of trust of Azerbaijani youth to his power and talent. Sumgayit State University is successfully represented in several competitions, Olympiads and contests. We believe that first Debate Forum will stimulate to advancement of oratory ability of our students.”

It is worthy to note that 16 teams participated at first Debate Forum. First 3 tours of the Forum were held on November 24. At the end of the tours, 8 teams qualified to 1/8 final stage.
