On March 5, 2021, the VII Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party, the main political force in the formation of the country's political system, was held. The public of the republic watched this congress with great interest. At the congress, President Ilham Aliyev delivered a wide-ranging historic speech. In his speech, based on the new reality in Azerbaijan, the President noted that by ensuring sustainable development in both the political and economic spheres, we have turned Azerbaijan into a country with great prestige and respect in the international arena and ensured our main task - the restoration of our territorial integrity.

As it is known, in return for the fact that the major powers did not take any practical measures to resolve the conflict and the OSCE Minsk Group, established to accept the status quo created by Armenia's occupation policy, did not allow to resolve the problem militarily, Azerbaijan showed great patience, determination and will in the struggle.

Even though the four resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council and General Assembly remain only on paper, in all his speeches President Ilham Aliyev expressed his support for a peaceful solution to the conflict. This conviction was backed by a purposeful army-building policy professionally pursued under his leadership during his 17-year presidency. Thus, as a result of this policy, a strong and organized Azerbaijani Army meeting international standards was created, armed with modern weapons and combat equipment, and an army was built on the example of NATO. It is no coincidence that according to the statistics of the last few years, our army ranks first in the world for modern weapons in the inverter. Armenia's military provocation on July 12 and August 27, 2020 to create a new source of tension in the region, to strike at Azerbaijan's strategic infrastructure projects, and finally a large-scale military provocation against Azerbaijan on September 27 laid the groundwork for the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to launch military operations to repel the enemy.

The course of successful military operations during the 44-day war, which began on September 27, showed that from the first days of the war, our soldiers and officers, who said "we are waiting for a single order from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief," proved their worth in battle. The highly professional liberation operation of the Azerbaijani Army - the Second Karabakh War, called the war of the XXI century, has led to significant changes in the doctrine of world wars.

Witnessing the unity of the state, people and army during the war, the world once again became convinced of the unshakable trust and confidence in the head of state, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

It is no coincidence that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev, in one of his numerous interviews during the 44-day war, called for the unity of power with the people during his time in power to convey the historical and legal aspects of the Karabakh problem to the world community and noted that the country has achieved a strong economy and army building as a priority area.

In interviews with representatives of the world's leading media during the 44-day war, President Ilham Aliyev once again demonstrated the ability to make independent decisions based on the national will, courage and political foresight to put his interlocutors in front of the facts and make them accept reality.

President Ilham Aliyev's thesis "I know what, how and when to do" addressed to foreign countries and international organizations proved itself in successful military operations during the war, and the legend of "invincibility of the Armenian army" was shattered. Thus, what the international organizations could not do for 30 years, the Azerbaijani army, under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief, realized in a short time.

At the VII Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party, President Ilham Aliyev praised the victory of the Azerbaijani army as "there has never been such a brilliant victory and absolute victory in the centuries-old history of Azerbaijan and said that injustice against the people of Azerbaijan was eliminated by our state in the war, on the battlefield, by giving martyrs, and historical justice was restored.." .
