THE EMBODIMENT OF LEADERSHIP IN FICTION AND THE IMAGE OF HEYDAR ALIYEV
Literature is a humanistic science. ‘Literature is the consciousness of the people, the vitality of its spiritual life’ (Belinsky). Although the world is full of technological innovations, no one should forget that the greatest rock of humanity is the human heart, its feelings and emotions. Our Great Leader, National leader of our people Heydar Aliyev was aware of this and did his best for the development of literature and culture. In every meeting and encounter with literary and cultural figures, he talked about the very important role of literature in studying the turbulent history of our nation, national-spiritual self-awareness, Azerbaijaniism, and national identification. ‘"Today, in general, when talking about independence, it is necessary to mention how rich our literature is for our people. Our literature and culture are the national wealth and intellectual property of our people. The process of national self-awareness, national awakening, revival of our people first of all passes through literature.’
In general, the glorification of the head of state or people who have made great contributions to their people and homeland is found in the national poetic tradition in every era. Since Oghuz Kagan, the mythological ancestor of the ancient Turks, great personalities have been the subject of literature in all eras, and the love of the people and respect for the people have found their expression in artistic form. In our opinion, one of the public tasks of great literature is not to let that image be damaged, to maintain it at the necessary social-aesthetic level, to cultivate trust in the leader of the people. From this point of view, the artistic reflection of the image of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the great figure of the Azerbaijani people in the 20th century, is natural and legitimate in our literature. There are hundreds of works dedicated to Heydar Aliyev in different types and genres of literature. Of course, today, the poetic hymn born from the love of the people, embodiment, expression of wonder and love - poetry; literary journalism, which is the fact of a real and direct attitude to historical events, has come, and although the application of the topic in artistic prose has just begun, we already encounter numerous successful examples.
The creation of the first poetic image of the great leader in the literary world dates back to the 1970s. Aliaga Kurchayli's poem ‘Ordinary man’ (“Adi adam”) can be considered the first step in this field. In 1974 Mirvarid Dilbazi's poem ‘Courageous Darling’ (“Şücaətli əzizim”) and Nabi Khazri's poem ‘Trust’ (“İnam”) written in 1980, the people's faith in their son, which came from a loud voice at that time, found its artistic embodiment.
During the period of independence, the creation of the image of the National leader became more organized. A campaign of biased political pressure and propaganda was started against Heydar Aliyev, who returned to Nakhchivan after the January 20 tragedy and was elected a deputy to the Supreme Soviet. At that time, the people who protected and defended it from the black forces were the poets and writers whom Heydar Aliyev once protected at the cost of blood and life by distracting the dog from the Soviet Union. Among them, Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, Khalil Reza Uluturk, Anar, Elchin, Gabil and others, we can name.
The change of socio-political events, the return of the wise son of the people to power, the recovery of the country from disintegration, the end of the civil war, the restoration of stability also inspire the literary environment, these issues were reflected more widely, especially in poetry. Among the poems dedicated to the national leader, folk poet Zalimkhan Yagub's ‘Epic of a Great Life’ attracts attention with its originality and idea. ‘Epic of Eternity’ is one of the best poetic texts dedicated to the Great Leader.
The image of Heydar Aliyev occupies an important place in memoir literature. People's writer Anar's essays ‘Unforgettable meetings’, ‘The winner came, the winner left’, Elchin's ‘Planting the world hereafter...’, ‘A man standing face to face with history’, ‘Seven meetings of forty years’ by Mevlud Suleymanli, ‘Pages from my life" by Isa Huseynov’, Vidadi Babanli's ‘Days I Don't Forget’, Hafiz Pashayev's ‘An Ambassador's Manifesto’, and Sayyad Ara's ‘Heydar Aliyev's Conquest of America’ are rich in actual life materials from this point of view.
In the modern stage of the era of independence, the ideological core of the Azerbaijani policy, which was based on the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Muzaffar Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev, was woven from the literary and cultural policy of the outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev. President Ilham Aliyev further enriched this eternal teaching with provisions arising from the requirements of the modern era in accordance with the principles of the new epoch, and defined the literature policy of the independence period. It is no coincidence that Mr. President is the subject of hundreds of great poetic examples, especially related to recent events.
Zalimkhan Yagub said about the Great Leader: ‘If they ask me that we want to put a statue of love, courage, loyalty, art, thinking, philosophy, poetry, whose statue should we put, I would say Heydar Aliyev.’
