Those people are happy, who find a historical figure who will save them in the most difficult day of their history. In this sense, the Azerbaijani people are one of the happiest nations. Thus, the genius personality, the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who grew up in the heart of the Azerbaijani people in the twentieth century, saved our Motherland by voting for the calls of our people in the darkest and most difficult days of our history.

Heydar Aliyev is a person with innate talent ahead of all times. The life of the Great Leader, dedicated to his native people, socio-political and rich state-building activities, began during the Soviet era, when he held senior positions in Azerbaijan.

During his tenure as a member of the Political Bureau and First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers under the leadership of the USSR, Heydar Aliyev always kept his homeland in the center of attention and took care of its development. The subsequent course of historical development proved that Heydar Aliyev had just begun to build today"s new, independent Azerbaijan.

In the Kremlin, the Great Leader"s ability to govern, experience, and personal qualities were always envied, and many considered him a rival. By the way, at that time, Heydar Aliyev was the only statesman in the Politburo who was able to rule the entire Soviet state and bring it out of decline.

Heydar Aliyev was also the main obstacle for the Armenian nationalists trying to snatch Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan. After the removal of the Great Leader from the leadership of the USSR, the tragic days of our people began. It was not long before the attacks on our compatriots in Armenia, the policy of ethnic cleansing resulted in the expulsion of 250,000 of our compatriots from their ancestral homeland and the open realization of the Armenians" baseless claims to Nagorno-Karabakh. The development of events in Azerbaijan led to the bloody January 20, 1990, which in turn led to the occupation of 20 percent of our territories by Armenian occupiers and the displacement of 1 million people.

Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the most popular and most modern political party in the new Azerbaijan, our Republic - the New Azerbaijan Party. The establishment of the YAP was a historical necessity. This was required by the fate of the Azerbaijani people, our Motherland.

Thus, under the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the New Azerbaijan Party, which took on a great mission in the history of independent Azerbaijan and became an important event in the life of our people, began its political activity. Formed on a solid foundation of Azerbaijani ideas, the New Azerbaijan Party has created great hope for the future in the political life of Azerbaijan by giving new life to the political life of our country.

With its establishment, the YAP has brought new quality criteria to the history of socio-political thought, political activity and struggle in Azerbaijan. The party had a serious goal to get the country out of a difficult crisis. The YAP came to power in a short period of time and became the winner of all elections. It is based on the authority of the founder of the New Azerbaijan Party, the foresight, rich experience in governing the state, approaching all issues with the principles of statehood, and most importantly, the people"s trust and confidence in him. YAP founder Heydar Aliyev has always justified the people"s trust and confidence, returned the country from the crisis by turning the party into a ruling party with a historic return to political power, paid special attention to the development of all spheres and pursued a progressive policy for the future of the republic. As a result, the political platform of the ideas of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev has become the guarantor of the YAP Azerbaijani statehood, its independence, today and tomorrow.

Today, the chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, President Ilham Aliyev, speaking of the culture of political succession, reorganizes our country, as well as the New Azerbaijan Party in accordance with the rapidly changing historical conditions with reform measures, preparing the country for new challenges after the Great Victory. The YAP has become the largest political party not only in Azerbaijan, but in the Caucasus as a whole, becoming a party of unity and solidarity of our people, regardless of nationality, religion, language, profession, position and social status.

Of course, the qualities of the chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev - smart public policy and high management, systematic, consistent and flexible approach, pragmatism and foresight, principledness, humanism - also played a major role in this process. As a result, today the unification of the state and the people on a single platform continues as in the days of Heydar Aliyev. This was proved by the unity and solidarity demonstrated by 51 political parties with the government during the 44-day war, as well as the new goals and objectives set at the VII Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party, as well as the accession of 6 political parties to the YAP. If we take into account that the issues envisaged in the political programs of all political parties operating in Azerbaijan have been successfully and consistently implemented by the ruling party - the founder of the New Azerbaijan Party Heydar Aliyev and his political successor, President Ilham Aliyev, then the YAP is the most effective political force that will form the basis.
