SUMGAYIT STATE UNIVERSITY HELD FOLLOWING TRAINING BY PARTICIPATION OF EXPERT OF “CLARIVATE ANALYTICS” COMPANY
On February 4, the expert of “Clarivate Analytics” company for scientific information resources, the author of more than 20 Web of Science indexed articles in the field of nuclear physics Inesh Kenjina held training entitled “Rules of presenting articles to international scientific journals” at Sumgayit State University within her visit to Azerbaijan.
Launching the event, vice-rector of SSU on Science and Innovations Professor Ramazan Mammadov greeted expert of “Clarivate Analytics” company for scientific information resources Inesh Kenjina. After introducing her to attendees, he emphasized actuality of the topic.
Inesh Kenjina informed about searching at “Web of Science” platform, looking for prestigious journals and articles, registering in this platform and other issues.
The presentation delivered on following directions under the question “How to write the article for international journal?”:
1. Information search and journal selection for writing scientific article;
Web of Science: actual topics, publishing, publications;
JCR: impact-factor journals on certain science field;
2. Requirements of scientific journals and instructions for authors: how to increase your chance in publications.
3. Writing and structure of articles;
Title, summary, key words: main recommendations and typical mistakes;
IMRAD: Intro, Methods, Results&Discussion
Scientific English style: recommendations and practical tasks;
Writing introduction correctly: recommendations and practical tasks;
Bibliography (EndNote): layout, compatible with journal’s requirements.
4. Writing cover letter and reviewing process: recommendations and practical tasks;
Afterwards discussions held with professor-teacher staff, faculty deans, department and section heads, scientific guides and PhD candidates about requirements put for journals in order to enter “Web of Science” platform, as well as presentation rules of articles and other practical issues.
After responding the questions of professors: Ramazan Mammadov, Nigar Isgandarova, Javanshir Mammadov, Akbar Aghayev, Mahammadali Zarbaliyev, Ali Naghiyev, Mukhtar Samadov, Inesh Kenjina expressed her certainty with continuation of cooperation of “Clarivate Analytics” with our University. It was noted that easy access to “Clarivate Analytics” stimulates advancement of science at SSU, expansion of international cooperation and
enhancement of the number of publications of researchers at prestigious journals.
