COMMEMORATION DAY DEDICATED TO KHOJALY GENOCIDE IN CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY FACULTY
On February 21, commemoration day was held in Chemistry and Biology faculty dedicated to 27th anniversary of Khojaly genocide.
The memory of the martyrs and Khojaly sacrifices were commemorated by one minute silence.
Faculty dean docent Mahal Muradov notified in the event that atrocious tragedy that occurred in Khojaly on February 25-26, 1992 is an unprecedented crime in human history. “Though 27 years passed from this tragedy, we still feel this pain. The works were executed for disseminating Khojaly genocide to world community after great leader Haydar Aliyev’s advent to power. This bloody tragedy has gained the legal and political status only in his administration. Everyone supports “Justice to Khojaly” international campaign which was launched by the initiative of vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva”. He expressed his believe and hope on liberation of occupied Azerbaijani territories soon and restoration of sovereignty in Nagorno Karabagh.
Senior lecturer of the Department of Azerbaijan and Eastern European nations’ history Parviz Jafarov, head of Department of Chemistry and its teaching methods docent Musa Mustafayev noted: “Armenian armed forces together with soldiers and military equipment of 366 infantry regiment and located in Khankandi region attacked and ruined Khojaly. Khojaly tragedy is a continuation of ethnic cleaning and genocide policy of Armenian invaders against Azerbaijani people in about 200 years”.
The students also delivered speech in commemoration day and spoke about calamities and brutality of Armenians against civilians on that day. They recited poems on Khojaly tragedy.
