On February 22, a series of events on 27th anniversary of Khojaly genocide held in Physics and Electroenergetics faculty, Engineering faculty, History and Geography faculty at SSU.

At first, memory of Khojaly martyrs was memorized with a minute’s silence.

The speakers spoke about reasons and results of Khojaly massacre and the works executed for disseminating it in international arena. They notified: “Armenian armed forces together with soldiers and military equipment of 366 infantry regiment located in Khankandi region in Soviet period, then attacked and ruined Khojaly. This atrocity of Armenian invaders will never be forgotten. This genocide was not only against Azerbaijani nation, but also against all humanity and universe. Every year the anniversary of this tragedy is marked in our Republic and several countries of the world. This bloody tragedy has gained the legal and political status only in the administration of Great leader Haydar Aliyev. His policy on disseminating the truth of Khojaly tragedy to world community is successfully kept on by President Ilham Aliyev. And also “Justice for Khojaly!” international campaign held by the initiative of vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva. As a result, world community knows the real reasons of Khojaly genocide and condemns brutality of Armenian terrorists”.

The students also delivered speech in the event and noted: “We should do everything for disseminating historical truth about the genocide and increase our knowledge and intellectual level for revenge, as well as by the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, should liberate our occupied lands. We believe it. Since Azerbaijan has got a powerful army! Azerbaijan has got successful foreign policy, diplomacy and unanimously supported Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President!

Afterwards, the students sounded patriotic poems. At the end documentary displayed about the Khojaly tragedy.
