On November 13, the director of the Sumgayit High-voltage Electric Network Khandan Ahmedov visited Sumgayit State University. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guest and said that serious reforms are underway in science and education. The care and attention of the President of the country to this area proves that this factor is one of the main principles of public policy. This process is not limited only to the capital of the country. According to the decrees of the President and programs on the socio-economic development of the regions, Sumgayit State University, which sets as its goal the training of highly qualified personnel, today, has become one of the leading centers of science and education.

The rector also spoke about strengthening the material and technical base of the university, about improving the classrooms and laboratories. It was noted that SSU makes its feasible contribution to the development of the scientific and intellectual potential of society. In order to improve the quality of education, classrooms and laboratories are equipped with equipment that meets modern standards, repair work has been carried out in all buildings of the university. As for many faculties, laboratory units from Germany were purchased for the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics. Of these, a laboratory bench can be noted on the subject of electric drive, as well as equipment on the subject Physics of Electromagnetism and Semiconductors. Also, according to the decision of the Academic Council, a training ground is being created, including an educational open-air museum and a high-voltage substation. The rector thanked the employees of the enterprise, headed by Kh. Ahmedov, for their active participation in the creation of the museum and the supply of instruments and equipment for it. Also, employees of the Sumgayit High-voltage Electric Network were invited to participate in the educational process of SSU.

The rector noted that the university cooperates with many leading universities of the country, with which bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements are concluded. Relations of mutual cooperation with the Institute of Polymer Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan are developing, at which the base department of the University "Technology of Polymer Materials" was created. Today SSU is expanding cooperation with industrial enterprises of the city where students undergo practical training.

The director of the Sumgayit High-voltage Electric Network, Khandan Ahmedov got acquainted with the work currently being carried out at the training ground.

Then Khandan Ahmedov met with students of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics, got acquainted with his laboratories, spoke about the significance of the agreement on cooperation. He noted that the contract will play an important role in determining the future prospects of ongoing research and development, and cooperation on the creation of a training ground will continue.

In conclusion, the issue of creating the basic department of SSU at the enterprise of the Sumgayit High-voltage Electric Network was discussed.
