SSU HOLDS TRAININGS FOR PILOT SPECIALTIES
Azerbaijan has joined the Bologna process in 2005 and it was an important step in integrating Azerbaijani education into the European educational space. The obligations of the Bologna process mainly include the branching of EU systems, solving problems with the recognition of diplomas, improving the quality of European higher education (introducing a quality assurance system). Responsibility for implementing these processes lies with universities. Sumgayit State University is one of such universities. Since 2016, the process of adapting quality assurance, European standards, curricula to the European educational space at SSU has been carried out as part of two major projects. These are Twinning, ERASMUS + EQAC projects, implemented with the support of the European Commission, funded by the Ministry of Education. The SSU also began the process of adapting syllabuses and curricula to the European educational space and their development based on European standards. Pilot specialties were selected, an experimental group of teachers and a student focus group were created. The selected teachers have been trained. Trainings were conducted by European consultants as part of the Twinning project.
On October 30, the regular training “Learning outcomes, Bloom"s taxonomy” was held at SSU, and a meeting was also organized with the introspection group. The training was held for teachers of the Faculty of Engineering, as the computer engineering specialty was chosen as a pilot specialty. The training was attended by vice-rector for Teaching Organization Training Technologies docent Natig Talibov, dean of the Faculty of Engineering associate professor Ulduz Aghayev, head of the Career Center associate professor Amirkhan Isayev, head of the International Cooperation Department Samira Mammadova and teaching staff.
