INTERFACULTY INTELLECTUAL COMPETITION “WHAT? WHERE? WHEN?” AT SSU
On December 9, interfaculty intellectual competition “What? Where? When?” took place at Sumgayit State University with the organizational support of the Student Trade Union Committee in order to promote the Azerbaijani language, history, culture and art.
The Chairman of the Committee of Free Trade Unions Elmar Khalilov welcomed the guests and spoke about the care and attention of the state to the young generation, the successful development of youth policy. He noted that the purpose of the competition is to fulfill the tasks arising from the State Program “Azerbaijani Youth in 2017-2021”, expand the intellectual level and worldview of youth, stimulate their intellectual development and organize leisure activities.
Associate professor Elmar Khalilov also said that holding such events increases students" interest in knowledge, stimulates intellectual activity and helps to identify gifted young people, strengthens the sense of scientific motivation. E. Khalilov wished the participants of the competition success.
Senior lecturer of the Faculty of History and Geography Sarvan Badalov informed participants about the order and rules of the competition.
7 teams took part in the competition in 3 rounds. As a result, the team of the Faculty of History and Geography took 1st place, the team of the Faculty of Philology-2nd place, and the team of the Faculty of Engineering-3rd place.
Members of the winning team were awarded cup and diploma.
