A cooperation agreement was signed on January 15 between Sumgayit State University and “Qartal” Construction Company. The agreement will serve to conduct joint cadre preparation between two organizations, and enhance the theoretical and practical knowledge of staff and students through the mutual use of scientific and logistical potential.

The rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov welcomed the guests and informed about the activities of the university, the works carried out for the development of education, international relations, gained achievements and expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of effective cooperation. He said that SSU has created a perfect model of higher education by signing many projects, bringing international cooperation to the highest level. In short, the university has been a member of the Caspian State Universities and the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Higher Education Institutions, playing an important bridge in the country's integration into the world today. The rector also noted that within the Association, senior SSU executives, lecturers, and students participated in forums and conferences held many times. This indicates the high position of our university in the international rankings and its high reputation. The rector also said that the university has signed bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements with many reputable universities around the world. Also, there is a cooperation agreement with many businesses operating in the country, whereby students have an internship in accordance with their specialty. This also contributes to the development of human resources in accordance with the requirements of the day.

Director of “Qartal” Construction Company Shahin Mammadov, who gave a comprehensive overview of the company's activities, stressed the importance of expanding ties between the university and the firm, thanking the university's leadership and the staff for their warm welcome, noting that our goal is to contribute to the development of the national economy. Shahin Mammadov also said that according to the agreement signed between the parties, the mutual use of scientific and material-technical potential, the organization of internships on certain specialties with payment for a group of undergraduate and postgraduate students, the provision of scholarships are planned. And also The Certified Training Center operating under the firm is expected to provide courses for students. Certificates will be presented for installation engineers and arc welding engineers, and the firm will provide vacancies for SSU graduates and provide them with jobs. It will also contribute greatly to the development of our mutual relations.

Then the cooperation agreement was signed by SSU Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov and Director of “Qartal” Construction Company Shahin Mammadov.

Later, the delegation visited the Heydar Aliyev Center of the University to look at photographs and book exhibitions. The guests were also acquainted with the laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering, equipped with modern equipment, the University's II Learning Building and the Museum of Electroenergetics in the open air, and the High Voltage Substation Training polygon.
