The closing ceremony of the Republican scientific conference on "Ecology and protection of life activities: achievements, problems" was held on June 6 at Sumgayit State University.

Vice-rector for Science and Innovations, Professor Ramazan Mammadov conveyed the greetings of Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov to the participants and spoke about the importance of the conference. He noted that the main purpose of the conference is to hold a dialogue and exchange experiences between government agencies, organizations and universities. The vice-rector spoke about the work done in this field at the university, research work, international cooperation, educational seminars. He noted that in accordance with the order of the President and the program of socio-economic development of the regions, Sumgayit State University aims to meet the needs of qualified personnel for enterprises working with technology in accordance with modern world standards. By signing many international projects, the University expanded its relations with foreign universities, achieved historic success by exchanging teachers and students, conducting joint research, participating in international conferences and congresses, and educational programs. In particular, today"s conference on "Ecology and protection of life activities: achievements, problems" once again confirms the above. The Vice-Rector added that a lot of work has been done in the last few years to improve the ecological situation and protect the environment. The legal framework in the field of environmental protection has been improved. The implementation of environmental policy in the field of improving the ecological situation of our country and the efficient use of natural resources has become possible as a result of the attention and care shown by the state leadership.

The head of the Department of Ecology, associate professor Rahila Ahmadova, said that the conference lasted for two days in four sections. She noted that 134 articles and theses from 18 organizations were included in the conference, 94 theses and articles were included in the conference program through the anti-plagiarism program.

Then the floor was given to the heads of departments at the closing ceremony of the conference.

Heads of departments: doc. M.Mustafayev, doc. R.R Ahmadova, doc. N.D Ashurova and senior teacher T.M Babayeva reported on the work of the sections, respectively. The heads of the departments noted that the research works presented by the speakers were mainly devoted to topical issues.

Section I: Physical, chemical, biological and radioactive contamination

Chairman: Assoc. prof. Mustafayev M.M - In the first section, 29 out of 31 reports on two meetings were heard.

Section II: Innovative approaches to industrial waste disposal

Chairman: Assoc. prof. Ashurova N.D. - In the second section, 16 out of 21 reports on two meetings were heard.

Section III: Environmental assessment in emergencies and environmental problems of energy

Chairman: Assoc. prof. Ahmadova R.R. -In the third section, 18 out of 22 reports on two meetings were heard.

Section IV: Environment, health, environmental education, nature and society issues

Chairman: senior teacher Babayeva T.M - In the fourth section, 14 out of 20 reports on two meetings were heard.

The chairmen of the sections praised the work of the conference. They said that despite the fact that the conference was online, the discussion was very lively. After a thorough discussion of the recommendations and proposals of the heads of departments, the organizing committee of the Republican Scientific Conference "Ecology and protection of life activities: achievements, problems" put forward relevant proposals:

1. The main purpose of the organization and holding of the conference is to establish close relations and cooperation between the participants as a result of scientific exchanges;

2. Holding international environmental conferences with the participation of national and international scientists and organizations;

3. Organization of separate trainings and seminars with the guests participating in the conference;

4. Issuance of certificates to conference participants;

Thus, the Republican scientific conference on "Ecology and protection of life activities: achievements, problems" successfully completed its work.
