The online exam session of the spring semester of the 2019/2020 academic year at Sumgayit State University continues successfully. The exams are regularly monitored by the rector, Professor Elkhan Huseynov.

On June 24, Sumgayit State University hosted another online defense of dissertations of second-year masters who have successfully completed their scientific and pedagogical internships. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov, vice-rector for Teaching Organization and Training Technologies Natig Talibov, vice-rector for Science and Innovations Professor Ramazan Mammadov, head of the Doctoral and Master"s Department Sabir Khalilov, deans of faculties, heads of departments and academic supervisors took part in the defense.

Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov reminded that in accordance with the current situation created by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), online education at SSU is organized remotely, and all the technical opportunities have been created for this. He stressed that Azerbaijani education has successfully passed the tests created by the pandemic, and at the same time a number of important decisions have been made in favor of students regarding the exam session. He noted that as the role and sphere of influence of science and education increases in modern times, the developed countries of the world pay special attention to this area. Today, the sustainable development policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, his special attention and care for science and education create great opportunities for the educational community. The rector also noted that according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "On granting scholarships to doctoral students, as well as master"s degree students of higher education, secondary special and vocational education institutions, and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences" Scholarships for students and pupils of primary vocational education institutions have been increased. All this is a clear example of the President"s attention and care for science, education and youth. The decisions taken by the President to ensure the integration of science and education in our country, the involvement of young people in education, science, intellectual activity, improving the quality of education, improving the financial situation of students, social welfare, stimulating scientific activity of young scientists are highly valued by the public. The rector wished success to the young defenders.

Then Ragif Azizov, master of Physics and Electroenergetics, presented a dissertation entitled "Operation of small power operators and individual power supply systems for outdoor lighting using solar energy."

Master of Engineering Deniz Gudratli presented a graduation project entitled "Development of a unified automated design system for the design of technical systems."

Members of the defense commission expressed their views and spoke about the relevance of the dissertation.

Expressing satisfaction with the defense, the rector congratulated the young people who graduated from the master"s degree, and wished such highly educated young people to work as qualified personnel at our university in the future. He noted that Sumgayit State University renews its staff potential every year with its students. The involvement of young professionals in the educational process demonstrates once again that these successes are sustainable. Every young person must start working in a certain field to determine their future. But not everyone has a glorious life as a teacher or a scientist. Happy is a person who dedicates his knowledge and skills to the formation and development of people and citizens as professionals. The teacher fulfills an honorable mission like the life of a scientist, and transfers his knowledge and skills to the brains of his students, contributes to the future development of the country, the homeland, the renaissance of national and spiritual values. The rector wished the young people success and achievements in their fields of activity and congratulated them once again.

In their speeches, the young people thanked the rector, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, for his attention and care during their studies, and expressed confidence that the knowledge and experience gained here will play an important role in their future activities.
