STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF PHYSICS AND ELECTROENERGETICS OF SSU MET ONLINE WITH A VETERAN OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR
An online meeting with Farid Nasibov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, was organized by the students of group 505 of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics Gunel Shahhuseynova and Gultaj Mammadova on December 14.
First, the memory of our martyrs who died in the First and Second Karabakh Wars was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Opening the event, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics Konul Hajiyeva greeted veteran of the Great Patriotic War Farid Nasibov and the guests, and congratulated the participants on the victory of our country. She noted that today our people celebrate the glorious Victory Day.
The Patriotic War, which began for the freedom of our lands, became a heroic chronicle of our people. In this 44-day war, Azerbaijan ended the nearly 30-year occupation by crushing the Armenian army on the battlefield. Against the background of this victory, the whole world saw a strong Azerbaijani state. For Azerbaijan, this war was, in the true sense of the word, the War of Salvation. Today, in Kalbajar, Lachin, Shusha - in the trenches, seeing the graduates and students of the Faculty of Physics and Power Engineering among our veterans and heroes, hearing their voices, kind words and the good news of victory creates another feeling. The leadership of Sumgayit State University, professors and students are proud of our heroic graduates!
Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Farid Nasibov greeted the participants and expressed his satisfaction with the meeting. He said that since the first day of the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijani soldiers have shown great courage.
He said how heroically the Azerbaijani heroes fought and this courage of our army will never be erased from the memory of the Azerbaijani people. He noted that when you turn the pages of history, you see that no war was without blood, martyrs and losses. The military history of all states is accompanied by wars, destructions, deaths and tragedies. Especially when the war is for the Motherland. It was everyone"s dream to sacrifice his life for the motherland, to rise to the peak of martyrdom, to engrave his name in the historical memory of the people, to pay his debt to the motherland, state and people, to create an example of heroism, to win the love and sympathy of millions. Patriotism overflows in the hearts of every Azerbaijani citizen.
Maqsad Mohsumzadeh, a student of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics and chairman of the Student Trade Union of the faculty, said that the 44-day Patriotic War ended with the victory of our victorious Army. In this war, our brave sons challenged death without blinking an eye. Our heroes, who rose to the summit of martyrdom, wrote our glorious history with their lives. It was a great honor and example for us students to meet our heroic sons, such as veteran of the Great Patriotic War Farid Nasibov. We are proud that in this historic victory, students and graduates of the Faculty of Physics and Power Engineering made history in Shusha, Lachin and Kalbajar.
Then the organizers of the meeting - Gunel Shahhuseynova and Gultaj Mammadova said they were proud to meet with the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Farid Nasibov. They noted that the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended in a great victory, took place at the expense of our heroic soldiers and officers, as noted by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
The student of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics Samra Babayeva emphasized that the glorious life of the heroes who rose to the peak of martyrdom is an example for future generations. She thanked the brave army of Azerbaijan and the victorious President for bringing the victory to the people of Azerbaijan.
At the end, veteran Farid Nasibov shared his impressions of the battle that led the Azerbaijani army to victory, shared his memories, and thanked the organizers and speakers of the meeting.
