Development of education and science at the level of international standards, expansion of international cooperation of educational institutions has become a requirement of the time. As the relationship between SSU and the world"s leading universities expands, a new process of development emerges in the economy as a result of scientific progress. Expanding its international relations year by year, Sumgayit State University has become a member of the Association of Azerbaijani-Russian Higher Education Institutions and Caspian State Universities, playing an important bridge role in the integration of our country into the world. Our university implements international cooperation within the framework of agreements and international projects concluded with higher education institutions of the Turkey, Iran, USA, Russia, England, Germany, France, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Hungary, Spain, Greece, Poland, Ukraine, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and other countries. Despite the consequences of the coronavirus that has ravaged the world today, SSU organizes national and international events and conferences in all scientific areas online. Dozens of our scientists have successfully participated in international conferences and made presentations. The teaching staff of the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Management successfully participated in international conferences held in May.

Saadat Humbataliyeva, Associate Professor of Economics, spoke on "Main directions of state policy in the field of higher education in Azerbaijan" at the international web conference "Universe of university" held on May 18 at the branch of Ural Management University - Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Service under the President of the Russian Federation.

An international conference on "The state and the market: mechanisms and institutions of Eurasian integration in the context of growing global instability" was held on May 20-21 at the St. Petersburg State University of Economics of the Russian Federation. The conference was organized by the support of Expert Council on Economics of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Pedagogical University of Central China, Northwestern University (Xi"an, China), Warming-Mazur University (Olstin, Poland) and information support of the Eurasian International Scientific-Analytical Journal "Problems of Modern Economy" and the "News of St. Petersburg State University of Economics" magazine. 3 employees of the Department of Economics of Sumgayit State University participated in this conference. Head of the Department of Economics, Assoc. prof. Lala Mahmudova delivered speech on "Ways to ensure sustainable development of innovative entrepreneurship (on the example of the Republic of Azerbaijan)", senior teacher of the department, PhD Shahla Jamilzadeh spoke on "Budget and tax policy - as a leading factor in ensuring national economic security", the senior teacher of the department Mahammad Ahmadov on "International economic relations - as a leading direction in the development of national economies."
