SSU HOLDS AN ONLINE EDUCATIONAL EVENT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING
On April 23, Sumgayit State University hosted an online anti-trafficking awareness event organized by the Student Youth Organization.
Opening the event, SSU Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, Associate Professor Ramiz Huseynov spoke about the importance of raising awareness to combat human trafficking, the main purpose of which is to organize such events.
He noted that the purpose of the event was to exchange experiences and promote discussions on various aspects of preventing and combating human trafficking among children and youth, emphasizing a comprehensive, human rights-based approach and international partnership.
The Vice-Rector also noted that the state has taken large-scale measures to combat human trafficking in Azerbaijan, and called on our youth to always be vigilant, not to be exploited and to stay away from this threat. He noted that our country has made great strides in the fight against human trafficking. In recent years, measures to combat human trafficking have been strengthened in our country, and our country has an excellent legal framework and education system in this area.
Chairman of the Student Youth Organization Tayfun Hajili spoke about human rights violations, crimes against the person and measures to combat them. He informed the participants about the concept of human trafficking, the essence and forms of the fight against human trafficking, the organization and search operations.
