The New Azerbaijan Party Sumgayit city organization, YAP Youth Union and Sumgayit State University Student Youth Organization jointly organized an online conference "From Salvation to Victory" dedicated to June 15 - National Salvation Day.

Member of the Board of the New Azerbaijan Party, Chairman of Sumgayit City Organization Ramiz Huseynov, Chairman of Sumgayit State University Student Youth Organization Tayfun Hajili, Chairman of New Azerbaijan Party Youth Union Bakhtiyar Islamov, Chairman of YAP Sumgayit Youth Union Farida Gafarova, Deputy Chairman of YAP Youth Union, Sevinj Gasimova, director of the Sumgayit office of the Youth Development and Career Center, members of the Youth Union and political activists were present.

Opening the event, Ramiz Huseynov, a member of the board of the New Azerbaijan Party, chairman of the Sumgayit city organization, greeted the participants and noted that there are days in the fate of the Azerbaijani people that determine its future. The most important of these days is June 15 - National Salvation Day, written in golden letters in our history. National Salvation Day is not only a calendar holiday for the people of Azerbaijan, but also a day of great social, political and historical significance. June 15 is a real date of salvation for our people. The creator of this history is Heydar Aliyev, who played an exceptional role in the preservation, strengthening and development of Azerbaijan's independence and always relied on his people. On June 15, 1993, with the return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to power for the second time at the request of the people, a solid foundation of Azerbaijan's independence was laid. Speaking about the events of that time, R.Huseynov noted that the anarchy and chaos ended with the coming to power of Heydar Aliyev in 1993: “Due to the incompetence of the previous leader of Azerbaijan, the chaos deepened and there was a great threat to independence. There were serious problems with neighboring countries, and Armenia, taking advantage of this, invaded Azerbaijani lands. Seeing this, the people of Azerbaijan expressed their concern and demanded that Heydar Aliyev come to Baku from Nakhchivan to get rid of this trouble.

With the return of Heydar Aliyev to power, the economic downturn, Armenian aggression and instability in the country were prevented. Azerbaijan has made progress and, as a result, has now become a strong state in the region. His return was engraved in our national ideology as a history of salvation. The next generation should never forget this date”. Then Ramiz Huseynov gave the floor to the speakers.

Speaking on "Heydar Aliyev's return to political leadership", the chairman of the Youth Union of the New Azerbaijan Party Bakhtiyar Islamov noted that the Day of National Salvation is a turning point in the history of modern Azerbaijan. It is impossible to imagine the modern history of Azerbaijan apart from the Day of National Salvation and the great return of our national leader Heydar Aliyev. Every year, the people of Azerbaijan celebrate the National Salvation Day with great solemnity. On that day, June 15, 1993, the great leader Heydar Aliyev was elected chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was a very important event in the history of the Azerbaijani people. With the return of national leader Heydar Aliyev to power, he brought a new atmosphere to the country and saved Azerbaijan from the danger of collapse. Heydar Aliyev was the architect of building an independent state in Azerbaijan.

Bakhtiyar Islamov noted that June 15 - National Salvation Day is celebrated and valued by our people as the most important event in our modern history. This is due to the fact that people directly connect their lives today, the current prosperity of our country and their clear prospects for the future with the Day of National Salvation, the historic return of Heydar Aliyev. Heydar Aliyev is a genius who worked in the extremely complex and controversial historical conditions of the twentieth century. More than fifty years of the history of Azerbaijan are closely connected with the personality of Heydar Aliyev, his way of struggle, his great creative activity. He is the founder of the new Azerbaijan. Heydar Aliyev is not only a great son of the people, but also a unique person who has risen to the ranks of the most powerful historical figures in the world, an Azerbaijani genius of world history.

Farida Gafarova, chairwoman of the Youth Union of Sumgayit, also spoke on "Heydar Aliyev and youth policy." Farida Gafarova noted that when the Azerbaijani youth speaks, it is impossible to imagine without the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. National Leader Heydar Aliyev paid special attention and care to each area, as well as to the youth sphere, for the sake of the bright future of young people. Today, this youth policy is successfully pursued by President Ilham Aliyev.

From the moment the Great Leader came to power, he thought about the future of the Azerbaijani youth. The national leader thought that the bright future of Azerbaijan consisted only of educated, knowledgeable, highly intellectual young people. As we know, before the Great Leader came to power in the USSR, the youth of Azerbaijan were not represented in any promising positions, jobs and areas. However, as a result of the youth policy pursued by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev after coming to power, the Azerbaijani youth began to live its bright, successful period.

Then Hasan Ahmadov, 2nd year master student of SSU Faculty of History and Geography, “State-building issues in the first years of independence”, Turkan Seyfullayeva, 4th year student of SSU Faculty of Economics and Management, “Our wise president - genius leader Ilham Aliyev”, member of the Youth Union of YAP Sumgayit, an employee of the House of Poetry named after Ali Karim, Presidential Fellow, young member of the Writers' Union Elvin Alizadeh spoke on "The Chronicle of the Victory of President Ilham Aliyev."

At the end, Shamistan Muradkhanli, an employee of Sumgayit State University, concluded the event by performing live music in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
