EMPLOYEES OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT OF SSU TOOK PART IN THE OPENING OF THE “SHAHID BULAGHI” BUILT IN MEMORY OF THE MARTYRED GRADUATE RASHAD MIKAYILZADE
It has become a tradition at Sumgayit State University to visit the families and graves of our martyrs who fought heroically in the Great Patriotic War for the liberation of our lands. As a continuation of the tradition, representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University took part in the opening of the “Shahid bulaghi” built in memory of the martyred graduate Rashad Ilham oglu Mikayilzade on September 30 in Mashtaga settlement of Baku.
First, flowers were laid at the fountain and the memory of the martyr was honored.
The opening ceremony was attended by officials of the Executive Power, relatives of the martyr, comrades-in-arms, representatives of law enforcement agencies, public figures and the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sumgayit State University, associate professor Aynura Yahyayeva, deputy dean, senior lecturer Araz Mirzabeyov, head of the department, associate professor Loghman Abdullayev, senior lecturer Shalala Mammadova and 3rd year student Tajir Alizadeh.
Speaking at the ceremony, the martyr's parents spoke about the short and glorious life of Rashad Ilham oglu Mikayilzade, his bravery in the Great Patriotic War, and thanked President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown to the families of martyrs.
Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Aynura Yahyayeva spoke about the historic victory of our Army in a short period of time under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. He said that the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended with the Victory over the Armenian occupation, was a real school of heroism for every Azerbaijani youth. Hundreds of young people from, who voluntarily joined the ranks of our National Army, also showed great military courage in destroying the enemy army in this war. Associate Professor Aynura Yahyayeva also noted that we are proud that among these young people there are graduates of Sumgayit State University. Speaking about Rashad Mikayilzadeh, who was a dean's student, he said that he was a patriotic and exemplary student.
It should be noted that Rashad Ilham oglu Mikayilzade, originally from Jamashayir village of Lerik region, was born on September 30, 1995 in Yasamal district of Baku. Rashad, the only child of the family, spends his childhood in Yasamal district. In 2002, he went to the 1st grade of secondary school No. 240 in Nasimi district. After finishing the 5th grade, he continues his education at school No. 311 of Sabunchu district. After graduating from high school in 2013, he entered Sumgayit State University, majoring in finance and accounting. He is awarded a letter of appreciation for his voluntary participation in the first European Games in 2015. In 2019, Rashad Mikayilzade was called up for active military service by the Yasamal District Military Commissariat and sent to military unit N in Gazakh district. He was awarded an honorary diploma in 2020 for his exemplary service. Rashad has been fighting since the first day of the Second Karabakh War, which began on September 27, 2020. Rashad, who started his career in Fizuli, shows great courage and heroism. Then he took part in the fierce battles in the direction of Khojavend. He writes his name in golden letters by inflicting crushing blows on the enemy and destroying a large number of his forces. Hero Rashad died on November 9, 2020 in the fierce battles for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the Order on awarding medals to servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed by President Ilham Aliyev, soldier Rashad Ilham oglu Mikayilzade, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan who took part in combat operations to ensure the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was awarded the medals after the death "For Distinguished Service", "For the Liberation of Khojavend", "For the Liberation of Fuzuli" and "For the Motherland".
