A day of remembrance was held on October 22 in Khachmaz region for our martyr Sultanov Huseyn Farhad oglu, who was martyred in the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended with the Great Victory. The ceremony was attended by officials of the district executive power, family members of the martyr, veterans, public figures and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sumgayit State University Araz Mirzabeyov, Head of the Department of Economics Lala Mahmudova, senior lecturer Ilgar Osmanov, chief laboratory assistant Sabina Gaziyeva and students. They laid a wreath at the tomb of the martyr on behalf of the leadership of Sumgayit State University.

At the ceremony, the parents of the martyr Huseyn Sultanov spoke about his son's short, glorious life and bravery in the Great Patriotic War. He said that Huseyn Sultanov was born on April 26, 1996 in Hajigurbanoba village of Khachmaz region. Huseyn was the youngest of three brothers in the family. He successfully graduated from Sumgayit State University, Faculty of Economics and Management. He also successfully participated in the civil service entrance exams. But the outbreak of the Patriotic War resulted in his career ambitions taking a back seat. He went to the front on the basis of a mobilization call. Huseyn joined the fighting from the first days of the war and was active in destroying the enemy. For the sake of our freedom, even though he was still young, he showed an example to his peers and the next generation, a courage that will be learned again and again.

Scientists of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University Araz Mirzabeyov, Lala Mahmudova, Ilgar Osmanov shared their memories of the martyr Huseyn Sultanov, saying that he was a very cultured, humble, disciplined and hard-working student. It was said that Huseyn was chosen among other students for his patriotism and always took an active part in the public affairs of the university. They stressed that his short but very meaningful and glorious life is an example for future generations. They noted that the brave sons of Azerbaijan for 44 days demonstrated unprecedented heroism and patriotism in human history, created a new combat experience in the world military. We are indebted to our martyrs and veterans, whose names are written in history in golden letters, who gave us the joy of victory. Under the leadership of the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, the faculty and students of the university periodically visit the families of martyrs, they are respected and honored. will not die, will not be forgotten! As the years pass, future generations will always remember them with great gratitude. If the martyrs’ memories are remembered everywhere, it means that they are not dead, they always live in their hearts. It is the civic duty of each of us to always live in our hearts these sons who gave us the joy of victory through their martyrdom.

It should be noted that Sultanov Huseyn Farhad oglu took part in the battles for the release of Jabrayil and Fuzuli. He rose to the peak of martyrdom as a result of a shell explosion on October 21 while fighting in the direction of Fizuli. After his death, he was awarded the medals "For the release of Fuzuli" and "For the Motherland."
