In every country, the health of the people is the most important task. Azerbaijan is one of the countries in the world where the achievements in all areas are based on the concept. In particular, the victories and results in the field of sports were achieved as a result of concepts and long-term programs. At present, a special state policy is being implemented to ensure the decisive role of sports in the formation of a healthy lifestyle, the development of national self-consciousness, the education of patriotic feelings of young people, who are the main driving force of the country's population. The development of mass physical culture and sports in our country contributes to the proper upbringing of young people and the formation of a healthy lifestyle. The state's care for sports and youth stems from the desire to see our nation healthy. For this purpose, sports bases, playgrounds, halls created in higher education institutions serve the physical health of students. One of the greatest achievements of our country is the upbringing of healthy young people who live with high ideas and work with great devotion to their people, homeland and land. Azerbaijani youth demonstrates loyalty to their homeland. The 44-day Second Karabakh War showed how much the Azerbaijani youth love their land and homeland. With great enthusiasm, our young people took up arms, liberated our lands from occupation, and waved our tricolor flag. The Azerbaijani soldier regained the pride of our people with his new history. Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the brave Azerbaijani Army ended the 30-year occupation during the 44-day Patriotic War and liberated Karabakh. Azerbaijan has ensured its territorial integrity on the basis of the norms and principles of international law. November 8 has entered the modern history of our people as Victory Day.

A series of events was approved at Sumgayit State University in connection with the Victory Day on November 8. In accordance with this plan, the university holds events - scientific conferences, seminars, lectures, round tables, the staff and students regularly visit the families of students and graduates who rose to the peak of martyrdom.

As a follow-up to the event, interfaculty sports competitions were launched on October 25 in connection with Victory Day. Students of Sumgayit State Technical College under Sumgayit State University and SSU started interfaculty competitions in 3 types of sports (table tennis, checkers and chess). It should be noted that the first to participate in the competition were students of table tennis. 8 teams tested their skills.
