On October 28, Sumgayit State University hosted an intellectual knowledge contest called "What? Where? When?" jointly organized by the Student Youth Organization and the Student Trade Union Committee, dedicated to Victory Day on November 8.

Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee of our University Nemat Ibayev greeted the participants and said that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, favorable conditions have been created in our country for the development of youth, their better education, and raising their intellectual level. As a result of the attention and care of the head of state, modern and patriotic youth with high intellectual training, mastering modern innovations are growing up in our country. Guided by the wise instructions and recommendations of the President, educational institutions, as well as Sumgait State University are building their main activities to pay great attention to instilling a sense of patriotism in young people. It is not accidental that at the beginning of the Patriotic War, a group of students and employees of our university also enlisted in the army as volunteers when our Supreme Commander-in-Chief announced a partial mobilization. A group of them went to military service and took part in the battles against the enemy in the ranks of our victorious army. The purpose of today"s knowledge contest is not to forget the 44 days of the Great Patriotic War and its heroes and to promote them among young people, to increase patriotism among young people, as well as to stimulate their intellectual level, intellectual development, leisure, and worldview.

7 teams from different faculties took part in the competition.

At the end of the intense and interesting competition, the first place was taken by the "Safavi" team of the Faculty of History and Geography, the second place by the Renaissance team of the Faculty of Philology, and the third place by the "Energetics" team of the Faculty of Physics and Electrical Engineering.

In the end, members of the winning team were awarded diplomas and trophies.
