On November 5, the Heydar Aliyev School of Sumgayit State University"s Heydar Aliyev Center hosted an online training on "Continuation of Heydar Aliyev"s domestic and foreign policy course and our 44-day history of victory."

First, the memory of the martyrs who died for the integrity of our lands was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Opening the event, the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, congratulated the participants on the upcoming Victory Day and spoke about the importance of the historic victory. He said that the greatest salvation mission of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to the people of Azerbaijan to strengthen the statehood of Azerbaijan, to ensure the eternity and irreversibility of its independence was to determine his worthy political successor during his lifetime. “As a result of the genius Heydar Aliyev school, the great political, economic and diplomatic successes achieved during the presidency of President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is our most painful and unique problem. It resulted in the solution and the convincing, brilliant victory of the long-standing unshakable unity of the People"s Power and Army in our society, our historic victory over our ancient enemies, and the liberation of our occupied lands from the clutches of the hated enemy. Undoubtedly, this historic Karabakh Victory of our people, our Glorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, our brave Army is a celebration of the eternal ideas of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the thoughtful and far-sighted policy of President Ilham Aliyev. The rector also said that Azerbaijan is a chronicle of wisdom, determination, and heroism of two powerful leaders of our modern history - the national leader Heydar Aliyev, and the winner of the Patriotic War, the savior of Karabakh, President Ilham Aliyev. We are confident that the spirit of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who formed the first foundations of this heroic and glorious history of victory, who did everything possible and even impossible for the people of Azerbaijan in different historical periods with the unique dedication of a political genius, is happy today”.

“Because the territorial integrity and state borders of Azerbaijan, which he loved dearly, were restored after many years of longing. Native Karabakh has already been reunited with the Motherland to which it belongs, and these great results have been achieved on the battlefield, as a result of the unparalleled heroism of the Azerbaijani Army and Azerbaijani officers. The enemy was forced to surrender in a disgraceful situation, and the revenge of all our martyrs and victims of the tragedy was taken from the eternal enemies of the Azerbaijani people. Under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our Army exposed all Armenian myths and lies, destroyed the enemy on the battlefield, and Azerbaijan implemented four UN resolutions on its own. This historic military-diplomatic victory of the Azerbaijani people will be analyzed and understood for many years to come. In 2020, a very difficult year for the whole world, Azerbaijan fought on three fronts: on the battlefield and in the international information struggle”.

Major General Natig Garayev, Chief of the Sumgayit City Main Department of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription of the Republic of Azerbaijan, made a report on "Continuation of Heydar Aliyev"s domestic and foreign policy course - our 44-day history of victory." He noted that the worthy political successor of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev deservedly took the trust of the Great Leader, fulfilled his father"s will, ended the occupation of the hated enemy and restored the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

In the first years of independence, there was such a crisis in Azerbaijan that our people had no hope for the future, no confidence in the leaders in power. There was no confidence in victory in the First Karabakh War, because there was no regular army, no Supreme Commander-in-Chief who commanded and led this army. Heydar Aliyev, who came to power at the insistence of the people, became the owner of the Azerbaijani people, our independent statehood, protected and strengthened our independence and restored historical justice under the leadership of the Azerbaijani people, President Ilham Aliyev. The strength of our army, the unity of our people, the trust in our leader ensured this victory of our people. The Victory Parade held on December 10 demonstrated the glorious victory of Azerbaijan and the power of our state to the whole world. Azerbaijan will continue to develop and become stronger year by year with the eternal ideas of the Great Leader and the thoughtful political course of our victorious leader, President Ilham Aliyev.

Karabakh War and New Realities in the Region", Sahiba Ibadli, 2nd year Master of Philology on "One of the attributes of our independent state - the Azerbaijani flag!". They spoke about the Patriotic War, which went down in history as a 44-day war, and the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani Army. They noted that the Patriotic War, which began on September 27 last year and resulted in the liberation of our occupied territories, has become the brightest page in our history.
