A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED BETWEEN SSU AND THE INSTITUTE OF SOIL SCIENCE AND AGROCHEMISTRY OF ANAS
On December 10, Sumgayit State University and the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS signed a cooperation agreement in the field of personnel training, scientific research and organization of production on a scientific basis.
The meeting was attended by the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, vice-rectors, deans and a delegation led by the director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, Professor Alovsat Guliyev.
Rector of SSU Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guests and expressed satisfaction with seeing them at the university, noting that the implementation of educational reforms in our country, strengthening personnel and intellectual potential is associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev. He noted that science and scientists have always been highly valued during the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who paid special attention to the development of science and education in our country at both stages of his rule. Important projects have been implemented to re-establish the country's scientific potential and integrate it into European values.
Noting that the cooperation agreement to be signed between Sumgayit State University and ANAS will create favorable conditions for strengthening relations between the two scientific institutions, the rector gave detailed information about the history of the university, its activities, international programs and projects. He noted that for the first time in the history of SSU, the establishment of the Dissertation Council and the implementation of doctoral training in the Doctor of Sciences program, the expansion of doctoral training in the Doctor of Philosophy program was provided. SSU has signed bilateral and multilateral agreements with many universities in our country and around the world, and has expanded cooperation.
Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, Professor Alovsat Guliyev informed about the activities of the enterprise, talked about the successes achieved and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of fruitful cooperation. He noted that the institute conducts soil and agrochemical research and directs the application of the final results to production. These results serve to combat salinization and irrigation erosion in various areas of agriculture, to restore soil fertility, to provide fertilizers on a normative basis, and ultimately to obtain ecologically clean agricultural products.
Then the cooperation agreement was signed by the rector of SSU, professor Elkhan Huseynov and the director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Alovsat Guliyev.
The purpose of signing the agreement is to create conditions for the involvement of high-level scientific personnel in training in cooperation with SSU, the use of the base of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS. The agreement provides joint participation in the field of soil science, agrochemistry, and ecological sciences of mutual interest and in the training of innovative scientific personnel, involvement of SSU faculty, researchers, masters and doctoral students in professional development in the relevant departments of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, research laboratories and other issues.
Afterwards, discussions were held between SSU and the Institute on cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
