On December 14, within the framework of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association, in order to further develop bilateral cooperation in several areas, a delegation of USPTU visited Sumgayit State University.

First, a meeting was organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center of SSU with the Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov. Welcoming the guests, the rector expressed his pleasure to see them at our university. After getting acquainted with the members of the delegation, he spoke about the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the universities.

He noted that the Russian-Azerbaijani Association of Universities, which serves to increase cooperation between universities in the field of science and education, also helps to increase the intellectual potential of our countries. He said: “Such relations create a basis for mutual exchange of experience, the implementation of joint innovative projects, which in turn has a positive impact on cooperation between higher education institutions and the quality of education in general. Today, our relations are successfully continued by the rector of USPTU Oleg Alexandrovich Baulin”.

The guests expressed their deep gratitude to the administration and staff of SSU for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings of the rector of USPTU Oleg Baulin. They spoke about the economic, cultural and strong friendly relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation. They praised the activity of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association.

The meeting also discussed the importance of joint projects, expanding direct contacts between students and improving dual programs.

After the meeting, the presentation of the rector, professor Elkhan Huseynov, vice-rectors, faculty and dean of the Faculty of Technology of USPTU Farkhad Vildanov was demonstrated in the small assembly hall.

During the event, the guests got acquainted with the faculties, departments and scientific laboratories of the university.

Then a Sumgait city tour and a banquet were organized for the delegation.
