TEACHERS AND STUDENTS OF SSU VISITED THE GUBA GENOCIDE MEMORIAL COMPLEX
On April 2, organized by the Student Trade Union Committee and the Student Youth Organization SSU teachers and students visited the Guba Mass Cemetery in the north of Guba to commemorate our national spiritual values, historical monuments and ancestral roots. They laid flowers in front of the monument and were informed in detail about the genocide committed by the Armenian-Bolshevik forces.
It was noted that the genocide received its legal and political assessment by the decree of national leader Heydar Aliyev dated March 26, 1998 and March 31 was declared the day of genocide of azerbaijanis. The mass cemetry discovered by chance during the construction works in Guba in 2007 was a clear proof of the genocide committed by Armenians in Guba in the bloody days of 1918. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order to establish a "Genocide Memorial Complex" in Guba to inform the world community about the territorial claims and aggression of Armenian nationalists against Azerbaijan, their bloody crimes, protect the national memory of future generations and perpetuate the memory of genocide victims. The Guba Genocide Memorial Complex was built with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, put into operation on September 18, 2013. The museum exposition was presented in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages. The exhibition began with photographs depicting the peaceful life of Guba on the eve of the events of 1918. Photographs depicting the life of ancient Guba, peaceful, coexisting azerbaijanis, lezgians, jews and other peoples were exhibited here.
The exposition also presented the order of national leader Heydar Aliyev on the genocide.
