On May 13 the presentation and exhibition of teaching aids published in recent years by the faculty of History and geography was held in  the Scientific library of Sumgayit State University.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the dean of the faculty ,the staff of  faculty and students.

Elmar Khalilov vice-rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations greeted the participants, congratulated the authors and spoke about the importance of the presentation. He stressed that the prestige of such events has increased significantly which have already become a tradition at the university. He noted that the publication of each of these materials has become a significant event in the scientific life of the republic, has reflected an extensive role in the scientific community and society. The main feature of these works is the philosophical depth of the commentary, scientific approach, strict consistency and logic, as well as the novelty of the topics raised and the reference to the little-studied pages of history.

The director of the Scientific library  Naila Amrahova shared her views on the books and noted that there are many interesting points in these publications.

Then the dean of the faculty of History and geography professor Adil Bakhshaliyev congratulated the authors and thanked the rector of the university professor Elkhan Huseynov  for the created conditions. He informed about the work done at the faculty to ensure the future of Azerbaijani historical science, to train highly qualified historians. He noted that the main purpose of the new publications is to convey the history of Azerbaijan to students impartially and as it is, to provide information about the various approaches to this history. This textbook defines the chronological framework of the study of the history of Azerbaijan and comments on the importance of source studies and historiographical materials related to the study of the period. The dean also noted that all sciences are important. But history has a special place among them. Because history teaches us the history of all sciences. History is the biography of your country and people. History plays a great role in the formation of national identity. We learn the real truth through history. Today, by researching the facts in the liberated territories, historians expose the Armenian lies there and convey the real truth to the world.

The authors informed about the methodological textbooks which  they published  that the publications are intended for scholars, specialists in history and geography, university students, as well as a wide range of readers.

After the speeches, teachers and students got acquainted with the publications, exchanged views with the authors.
