On May 26, Sumgayit State University and Yildiz Technical University jointly organized an online international scientific conference on "Strategic directions of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey."

Members of the Milli Majlis Ali Masimli, Vugar Bayramov, professor of the University of Siegen (Germany) and  the university SRH-NRW  of Applied Sciences Muslim Ibrahimov, representatives of research institutes, universities and many countries of the world: Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China , a group of economists-scientists participated.

The conference was opened by the vice-rector for Science and Innovations of SSU professor Ramazan Mammadov who conveyed the greetings of the rector professor Elkhan Huseynov ,and spoke about the importance of the conference. He noted that the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which have a solid foundation in the philosophy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev "One Nation, Two States", based on historical roots and brotherhood, and always show solidarity, have been successful in political, trade, economic, humanitarian, military and other fields. Azerbaijan and Turkey are always close to each other as the closest strategic allies in the world. Turkey's strong political and moral support to Azerbaijan during the 44-day war is a clear example of this. The vice-rector also noted that relations between our countries are constantly developing in the field of education, as in all areas. The requirements of modern times show the importance of deepening integration in the field of science and education, expanding cooperation in this field. In this regard, the sustainable development of cooperation with foreign universities, especially Turkey, in order to train highly qualified personnel, has been identified as a priority for universities.

The International Scientific Conference will contribute to science and education between the two countries, the vice-rector wished success to the work of  the conference.

The assistant of the  rector of Yildiz Technical University of Turkey, professor Ugur Dogan greeted the conference participants. He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with SSU and organizing  the international scientific conference , gave detailed information about the university, specialties and faculties  which he represents, spoke about international relations. He noted that the cooperation between SSU and YTU is developing.

Members of Milli Majlis Ali Masimli "Main directions of regional economic cooperation of Turkic states", Emin Hajiyev "Modern aspects of strategic economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey", Professor of the Faculty of Economics of YTU Cemal Zehir "Strategic directions of economic cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan", Siegen University (Germany) and SRH-NRW Professor of the University of Applied Sciences Muslim Ibrahimov "Opportunities and main directions of creating a joint agro-ecosystem of Azerbaijan and Turkey", professor of the department of World Economy and Marketing of SSU, doctor of Economics Shafa Aliyev in strengthening university-industrial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey strategic importance of technoparks ”made a report, expressed gratitude for the high-level organization of the international conference. They noted that holding such conferences is very useful. Because here scientists, economists express their views, share their experiences, and all this gives effective results.

Executive secretary Galib Huseynov, head of the department of Business Organization and Management of SSU  informed about the further work of the conference. He noted that the Organizing Committee of the conference received 128 reports and theses from 9 universities of 4 foreign countries (Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, People's Republic of China) and 25 scientific and higher education institutions of our republic. 120 reports and theses were selected by the Program Committee, checked by anti-plagiarism program and included in the agenda of the conference.

The conference will continue for two days in 8 sections.
