In accordance with the program of the III International Karabakh Conference "Modern Studies in Social and Human Sciences" within the "Year of Shusha" a group of employees of Sumgayit State University - dean of the faculty of History and geography, professor Adil Bakhshaliyev dean of the faculty of Physics and Power engineering Tamella Ahmadova, dean of the faculty of Philology Hamzayeva, as well as associate professor of the department of  literature of  Azerbaijan and foreign countries Arzu Huseynova visited Shusha on June 8. Thus, the theses they sent to the conference were accepted, and in accordance with the rules of the conference, a visit to Shusha was organized for about 100 scientists whose articles were accepted before the opening ceremony.

The purpose of the visit is to see the consequences of the destruction and vandalism committed by Armenia during the occupation, to get acquainted with the current situation in the liberated lands,  the historical and cultural heritage of the city, as well as landscaping.

The participants of the trip visited Cidir plain, Upper and Lower Govhar Aga mosques, fortress walls, Ganja gate and a number of historical and cultural monuments,the busts of  Khurshudbanu Natavan, Uzeyir, Hajibeyli and Bulbul who was brought to Shusha from Baku on the instructions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, president Ilham Aliyev.

Employees noted that Shusha, the "crown of Karabakh"  is a dear place and national symbol for our people. The city of Shusha  founded in 1752 by Karabakh khan Panahali khan and celebrating its 270th anniversary this year, has undergone a rich development and played an exceptional role in the cultural and socio-political life of Azerbaijan and the entire South Caucasus. This city  which has always preserved its unique historical appearance and  environment.

We should note that the great leader Heydar Aliyev had a special contribution to the development of Shusha. Thus, the development of Shusha in the 70s of the last century is closely related  with the name of our national leader Heydar Aliyev. Reconstruction of today"s Shusha is connected with the name of Ilham Aliyev. Thus, in the 44-day Patriotic War - on November 8, 2020, the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of president, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev liberated Shusha from occupation. Today, huge projects are being implemented in Shusha, which has been declared the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, to restore  true historical image of the city. Preparation of the General Plan of Shusha, restoration of the bust of the great poet Molla Panah Vagif and museum-mausoleum complex, opening of Bulbul"s house-museum and statue of Uzeyir bey Hajibeyli  was a  part of the complex work in the cultural capital of our country as well as restoration of historical, religious and architectural monuments.

The revival of the tradition of organizing the "Kharibulbul" music festival and "Vagif poetry days" in front of the magnificent mausoleum of Vagif in the plain of Cidir also shows that Shusha is  reviving and reuniting with its former full cultural life.

Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the victorious and powerful state of Azerbaijan is confidently moving towards new goals. The Year of Shusha promises important and new successes for our country in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres, as well as in the field of diplomacy.
