An educational event dedicated to the International Human Rights Day was held at SSU
December 10 is International Human Rights Day. Since 1950, December 10 it has been celebrated in the world as International Human Rights Day.
In this regard, on December 10, an event about "Human Rights" was held at Sumgayit State University organized by the Student Youth Organization.
The vice-rector for Humanitarian Affairs Ramiz Huseynov opened the ceremony, greeted the participants, stated about the importance of such awareness-raising events in this area. He noted that the purpose of the event was to exchange experiences and promote discussions on a comprehensive, human rights-based approach and international partnership, various aspects of preventing and combating human trafficking among children and youth. The vice-rector spoke about the fact that human rights are always the main issue in our country.
In her speech, Amina Hasanova chief lawyer of the university spoke about the essence of human rights and said that all people have the same rights and freedoms, which is the major goal of our national Constitution. After the adoption of our first Constitution on the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the basis for the creation of legal framework has been laid in this area. The Republic of Azerbaijan joined international human rights agreements. The lawyer gave detailed information about the UN Declaration of Human Rights, international documents on economic, social and cultural, civil and political rights, reforms in this field in our country, national human rights institutions, the establishment and operation of the attorney institutions. "The principles reflected in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights remain relevant today as it was in 1948.She said that the principles call for us to protect our rights, as well as the rights of others, and to know the rights that protect us," he said.
