On October 5, Sumgait State University, celebrated an event to the "International Teachers" Day". First, the SSU administration, teaching staff laid flowers at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev, to honer his memory.The event was held in theassembly hall of the university which was opened with playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan Republic. Professor Elkhan Huseynov expressed best wishes on the occasion of "International Teachers" Day" to participants of the event.
The rector emphasized that teachers work is constantly evaluated by our government, and it is was the great leader Heydar Aliyev  who always respected teachers at all times, created favorable conditions for the improvement of their welfare. Heydar Aliyev highly appreciated the work of the teacher always said: ""I do not know the highest name in the world  than  a teacher.
The rector Elkhan Huseynov mentioned  that an attitude of the President to teachers expands creative possibilities. Nowdays  in our university work teachers  who stands out from scientific knowledge, pedagogical skills, methodological training.
In recent years, major changes occurred in the context of the national education system.
So, the President"s Order of October 24, 2013 "approved by the State Strategy for the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan" modernizes the national education system through the introduction of  progressive  innovations.
The country"s integration into the world education became inseparable public policy. A group of teachers were awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes for high activity in the public life of the university, scientific and educational activity by university administration and Trade Union of Education Workers.
